The graduate school of National University of Gunsan announced on the 20th that Yoon Soo-young, a master's student majoring in Fisheries Science and Aquatic Life Medicine, received the 'Korean Fisheries Society President's Award' presented by the Korean Fisheries Society.
The Korean Fisheries Society President's Award is given to outstanding individuals recommended for their academic excellence to discover and support talents contributing to the development of fisheries science.
Yoon Soo-young expressed his thoughts saying, "I will do my best to become a researcher contributing to the advancement of fisheries science in the future." Yoon plans to continue his research by entering the doctoral program at the Graduate School of National University of Gunsan.
Acting Dean Kwon Bong-oh stated, "This award is a significant achievement that externally recognizes the outstanding academic capabilities of our graduate students," and added, "We will continue to cultivate key talents in the field of fisheries science through systematic education and research support."
Meanwhile, the Graduate School of National University of Gunsan is making efforts to cultivate practical professional talents linked to local industries through specialized education and research in the field of fisheries science.
국립군산대 윤수영 석사과정생, 한국수산과학회장상 수상
국립군산대학교 대학원은 20일 수산과학과 수산생명의학을 전공하는 윤수영(석사과정) 학생이 한국수산과학회가 수여하는 ‘한국수산과학회장상’을 수상했다고 밝혔다.
한국수산과학회장상은 수산과학 분야 발전에 기여할 우수 인재를 발굴·지원하기 위해 성적 우수자를 추천받아 수여하는 상이다.
윤수영 학생은 “앞으로도 수산과학 분야 발전에 기여하는 연구자가 되기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 소감을 밝혔다. 윤 학생은 향후 국립군산대 대학원 박사과정에 진학해 연구를 이어갈 계획이다.
권봉오 대학원장 직무대리는 “이번 수상은 우리 대학 대학원생의 뛰어난 학업 역량을 대외적으로 인정받은 의미 있는 성과”라며 “앞으로도 체계적인 교육과 연구 지원을 통해 수산과학 분야 핵심 인재를 양성하겠다”고 말했다.
한편, 국립군산대 대학원은 수산과학 분야 특성화 교육과 연구를 통해 지역 산업과 연계한 실무형 전문 인재 양성에 힘쓰고 있다.
