Jeollabuk-do Wanju Education Support Office (Director of Education Jo Young-min) announced on the 19th that they have distributed a 'Wanju Region Introduction Video' linked to the supplementary teaching materials for social studies in the 3rd grade of elementary school for the 2026 academic year, which can be utilized from the new semester.
This video introduces the beautiful natural environment of Wanju, historical events such as the Imjin War, and the local culture and major institutions in a visual learning material. The video features male and female characters that appear in the supplementary teaching materials as protagonists, and the content is tailored to the level of elementary school students using AI technology.
To increase students' interest, the videos were produced in short lengths of under 2 minutes, with character descriptions and animations inserted to aid understanding. In particular, Wanju local elementary school teachers participated in the production to stimulate class motivation and make it usable as supplementary material.
Each video is provided with a QR code so that students can easily watch them on tablets or mobile phones, which is expected to enhance the effects of repetitive learning and home-school connection.
Director Jo Young-min said, "We have created materials that allow students to learn about the Wanju region easily and enjoyably," and expressed hope that it will be actively utilized in classrooms to enhance regional understanding.
완주교육지원청, 초3 사회과 연계 ‘완주 지역 소개 동영상’ 제작·배포
전라북도완주교육지원청(교육장 조영민)은 2026학년도 초등 3학년 사회과 지역화 보조교재와 연계한 ‘완주 지역 소개 동영상’을 제작해 신학기부터 활용할 수 있도록 관내 초등학교에 배포했다고 19일 밝혔다.
이번 동영상은 완주의 아름다운 자연환경과 임진왜란 웅치·이치 전적 등 역사, 지역 문화와 주요 기관을 소개하는 시청각 학습 자료다. AI 기술을 활용해 보조교재에 등장하는 남·여 캐릭터를 주인공으로 설정하고, 초등학생 눈높이에 맞춰 내용을 구성했다.
학생들의 흥미를 높이기 위해 영상은 2분 이내의 짧은 분량으로 제작됐으며, 캐릭터 설명과 함께 애니메이션을 삽입해 이해를 돕는다. 특히 완주 지역 초등교사들이 제작에 참여해 수업 동기 유발과 보조 자료로 활용할 수 있도록 했다.
각 영상에는 QR코드가 제공돼 학생들이 태블릿이나 휴대전화로 쉽게 시청할 수 있어 반복 학습과 가정 연계 학습 효과도 기대된다.
조영민 교육장은 “학생들이 완주 지역을 쉽고 재미있게 배울 수 있도록 구성한 자료”라며 “수업 현장에서 적극 활용돼 지역 이해를 높이는 데 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
