On the 14th, Jeonju City awarded appointment certificates to 12 members of the 7th Twin Operating Team who will lead the twin-generation exclusive space 'Ujuro1216' at the Jeonju City Library Flower Heart.
The Twin Operating Team is an organization designed for teenagers aged 12-16 to participate as leaders in space operation, going beyond simple users. The 7th operating team consists of 4 elementary school students and 8 middle school students, who will be responsible for various activities such as space promotion, program proposals and planning, and managing recommended book collections through regular monthly meetings.
'Ujuro1216' is a dedicated space created in 2019 to attract the participation of 12-16 year old teenagers as library usage rates decline. The space is divided into communication space called 'Toktok Zone,' activity space called 'Kungkung Zone,' creative space called 'Seukseuk Zone,' and reading and contemplation space called 'Gomgom Zone.'
Operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays (Tuesday to Friday) and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends (Saturday and Sunday), with closures on every Monday and legal holidays.
One team member expressed, "Ujuro1216 is a space where we can comfortably talk with friends and engage in various activities, like our own hideout," adding, "I want to make it a special place that more friends would want to visit."
Lee Young-seop, head of the Jeonju City Library Lifelong Learning Division, stated, "Ujuro1216 is the nation's first twin-generation exclusive space," and said, "We will continue to create an environment where teenagers can participate autonomously and grow healthily."
전주시, ‘우주로1216’ 제7기 트윈운영단 출범
전주시는 14일 전주시립도서관 꽃심에서 트윈세대 전용공간 ‘우주로1216’을 함께 이끌어갈 제7기 트윈운영단 12명에게 임명장을 수여했다.
트윈운영단은 12~16세 청소년이 단순 이용자를 넘어 공간 운영의 주체로 참여할 수 있도록 마련된 조직이다. 이번 7기 운영단은 초등학생 4명과 중학생 8명으로 구성됐으며, 매월 정기모임을 통해 공간 홍보, 프로그램 제안 및 기획, 추천도서 컬렉션 운영 등 다양한 활동을 맡게 된다.
‘우주로1216’은 도서관 이용률이 낮아지는 12~16세 청소년의 참여를 이끌기 위해 2019년 조성된 전용 공간이다. 공간은 소통 공간인 ‘톡톡존’, 활동 공간인 ‘쿵쿵존’, 창작 공간인 ‘슥슥존’, 독서와 사색 공간인 ‘곰곰존’ 등으로 구성돼 있다.
운영시간은 평일(화~금) 오전 9시부터 오후 10시까지, 주말(토·일) 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지이며, 매주 월요일과 법정공휴일은 휴관한다.
한 운영단원은 “우주로1216은 친구들과 편하게 이야기하고 다양한 활동을 할 수 있는 우리만의 아지트 같은 공간”이라며 “더 많은 친구들이 찾고 싶은 특별한 공간으로 만들고 싶다”고 말했다.
이영섭 전주시 도서관평생학습본부장은 “우주로1216은 전국 최초의 트윈세대 전용공간”이라며 “앞으로도 청소년들이 주체적으로 참여하고 건강하게 성장할 수 있는 환경을 만들어 가겠다”고 밝혔다.
