The Gunsan Education Development Special Zone Gunsan Science and Culture Convergence Education Team will hold a 'March 2026 Science Week' event for local citizens and students on March 28 and 30 at the Nopansun Hall on the first floor of the Hwangryong Cultural Center at the National University of Gunsan.
Supported by Gunsan City and the Gunsan Education Support Office of Jeollabuk-do, this event, which is being organized, will connect everyday topics such as life, environment, and climate crisis with science in a simple and interesting way under the theme 'Stories of Scientists Planting Spring'.
The event will feature lectures, documentary screenings, networking, experiential programs, providing an opportunity for citizens and students to culturally experience science.
The team expects this event to be an opportunity for youth to explore career paths and for citizens to broaden their scientific knowledge through cultural enjoyment.
Jongmin Lee, the head of the team, expressed his hope that the event will become a platform for communication where students, teachers, and citizens look at the world through science, stating, "We will continue to steadily establish a science and culture convergence education model that reflects the local characteristics."
군산 과학X문화 융합교육사업단, 3월 과학주간 행사 개최
군산 교육발전특구 군산 과학X문화 융합교육사업단은 오는 3월 28일과 30일 국립군산대학교 황룡문화관 1층 노판순홀에서 지역 시민과 학생을 위한 ‘2026년 3월 과학주간(Science Week)’ 행사를 연다.
군산시와 전북특별자치도 군산교육지원청의 지원으로 마련된 이번 행사는 ‘봄을 심는 과학자들의 이야기’를 주제로, 생명·환경·기후위기 등 일상과 맞닿아 있는 주제를 과학과 연결해 쉽고 흥미롭게 풀어낼 예정이다.
행사에서는 강연과 다큐멘터리 상영, 네트워킹, 체험 프로그램 등이 진행되며, 시민과 학생들이 과학을 문화적으로 체험할 수 있는 기회가 제공된다.
사업단은 이번 행사가 청소년에게는 진로 탐색의 기회를, 시민들에게는 과학적 소양을 넓히는 문화 향유의 장이 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
이종민 사업단장은 “학생과 교사, 시민이 함께 과학을 통해 세상을 바라보는 소통의 장이 되길 바란다”며 “지역 특색을 살린 과학·문화 융합 교육 모델을 꾸준히 구축해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
