Suncheon County has taken steps to manage price stability in response to the possibility of local price increases due to the implementation of basic income in rural areas and external economic uncertainties such as rising international oil prices.
On the 12th, a meeting was held at the county office chaired by Vice County Mayor Jo Kwang-hee to discuss measures for stabilizing local prices and to review recent trends in the cost of living.
Officials from departments related to economics, agriculture, and hygiene, as well as representatives from local small business associations such as the restaurant association, beauty and hairdressing association, small business association, and academy association, attended the meeting. They shared price trends by industry and discussed ways to stabilize prices.
Participants checked the trends in prices of dining out, beauty services, and academy fees, as well as agricultural, aquatic, and livestock products, and daily necessities. They also considered the potential impact of rising international oil prices on local prices. They emphasized the importance of managing prices to ensure that the expansion of consumption due to the implementation of basic income in rural areas leads to the revitalization of the local economy.
Suncheon County plans to establish a Price Stability Task Force Team to continuously monitor major consumer goods and strengthen a price stability support system, focusing on the restaurant and personal service industries.
Vice County Mayor Jo Kwang-hee stated, "For basic income in rural areas to lead to the revitalization of the local economy, price stability is crucial above all." He added, "We will work together with the administration, local merchants, and relevant organizations to create a stable consumption environment that residents can feel."
순창군, 농어촌 기본소득 시행 앞두고 물가안정 관리 강화
순창군이 농어촌 기본소득 시행에 따른 지역 물가 상승 가능성과 국제유가 상승 등 대외 경제 불확실성에 대응하기 위해 물가안정 관리에 나섰다.
군은 지난 12일 군청 회의실에서 조광희 부군수 주재로 지역물가 안정을 위한 대책회의를 열고, 최근 생활물가 동향을 점검하며 대응 방안을 논의했다.
이날 회의에는 경제·농업·위생 분야 관련 부서와 외식업협회, 이·미용협회, 소상공인협회, 학원협회 등 지역 소상공인 단체 관계자들이 참석해 업종별 가격 동향을 공유하고 물가 안정 방안을 논의했다.
참석자들은 외식비와 이미용비, 학원비 등 개인서비스 요금과 농·수·축산물, 생필품 가격 흐름을 점검하고, 국제유가 상승 등이 지역 물가에 미칠 영향도 함께 살폈다. 또 농어촌 기본소득 지급에 따른 소비 확대가 지역경제 활성화로 이어질 수 있도록 가격 안정 관리가 중요하다는 데 뜻을 모았다.
순창군은 앞으로 물가안정 TF팀을 구성해 주요 생활물가 품목을 상시 모니터링하고, 외식업과 개인서비스 업종을 중심으로 가격 안정 협조 체계를 강화할 계획이다.
조광희 부군수는 “농어촌 기본소득이 지역경제 활성화로 이어지기 위해서는 생활물가 안정이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “행정과 지역 상인, 관련 단체가 함께 협력해 군민이 체감할 수 있는 안정적인 소비 환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
