Jeongeup City has been finally selected for the public offering of the Ministry of Health and Welfare's pilot project to establish a collaborative essential medical system in local areas, accelerating the establishment of a pediatric medical hub in the southwestern region.
Jeongeup City announced on the 13th that it has secured a total budget of 12.83 billion won, including 6.415 billion won in national funds and 6.415 billion won in local funds, through this selection.
The secured budget will be allocated to building and operating a pediatric outpatient clinic center and a children's ward at Jeongeup Asan Hospital as the hub hospital, as well as establishing a pediatric medical cooperation system.
Since 2024, the city has been gradually promoting the installation of a pediatric outpatient clinic center and a children's ward in cooperation with Jeongeup Asan Hospital in the southwestern region, and it started full operation in May last year. Currently, pediatric and adolescent specialists provide consultations from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and they also respond to nighttime emergencies through an on-duty system and an emergency room coordination system after the end of consultations and on holidays.
Jeongeup City plans to strengthen the local comprehensive essential medical system by establishing a cooperative network linking regional pediatric and adolescent medical institutions, health centers, and emergency medical systems centered around Jeongeup Asan Hospital.
Jeongeup Mayor Lee Hak-soo said, "It is a meaningful achievement in protecting the health rights of local residents," and added, "We will create a stable medical environment to make it a nationwide model case and do our best to establish Jeongeup Asan Hospital as a pediatric medical hub in the southwestern region."
정읍시, 필수의료체계 구축 시범사업 선정…서남권 소아의료 허브 본격화
정읍시가 보건복지부 주관 ‘지방협업형 필수의료체계 구축 시범사업’ 공모에 최종 선정돼 서남권 소아의료 허브 구축에 속도를 내게 됐다.
정읍시는 이번 공모 선정으로 국비 6억4150만원과 지방비 6억4150만원 등 총 12억8300만원의 예산을 확보했다고 13일 밝혔다.
확보한 예산은 정읍아산병원을 거점병원으로 한 소아외래진료센터와 어린이 전용 병동 등 소아 진료 협력체계 구축과 운영에 투입된다.
시는 2024년부터 정읍아산병원과 협력해 서남권 소아외래진료센터와 어린이 전용 병동 설치를 단계적으로 추진해 왔으며, 지난해 5월부터 본격 운영에 들어갔다. 현재 소아청소년과 전문의가 오전 8시부터 오후 8시까지 상주 진료를 하고, 진료 종료 이후와 휴일에는 당직 체계와 응급실 연계 시스템을 통해 야간 응급상황에도 대응하고 있다.
정읍시는 앞으로 정읍아산병원을 중심으로 지역 소아청소년과 의료기관, 보건소, 응급의료체계를 연계한 협력 네트워크를 구축해 지역 완결형 필수의료체계를 강화할 계획이다.
이학수 정읍시장은 “지역민의 건강권을 지켜내는 의미 있는 성과”라며 “안정적인 진료 환경을 조성해 전국적인 모범 사례로 만들고, 서남권 소아의료 허브화에 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
