Jeonbuk University is stepping up to enhance the competitiveness of local industries by continuing government-supported projects aimed at fostering research and development personnel for small and medium-sized enterprises.
Jeonbuk University announced on the 13th that its Research Personnel Innovation Center under the Industry-Academia Cooperation Focus Project has been selected as a continued support project for the Ministry of SMEs and Startups' "2026 SME Research Personnel Tailored Training Support Project."
The Research Personnel Innovation Center, in collaboration with the Jeonbuk Regional Industry Promotion Agency, has been supporting the training and supply of personnel for enhancing the research and development competitiveness of local small and medium-sized enterprises since 2024. Over the past two years, they have connected 221 job seekers with local small and medium-sized enterprises through personnel matching tailored to the needs of local industries.
This year's project aims to train over 120 research personnel, with a focus on supporting internships at companies for up to four months through matching with small and medium-sized enterprises. Participating research personnel will directly discover and carry out research and development projects to address technological challenges faced by companies, with each of the 40 projects receiving support of 10 million won in research and development funds.
The six projects that achieve outstanding results will be linked to the recruitment support project for junior and senior research personnel, with companies hiring these personnel receiving support for 50% of labor costs for up to three years.
Director Gu Gyeongsu of the Research Personnel Innovation Center stated, "We will strive to create a virtuous cycle ecosystem where talents stay in the region and companies leap through technological innovation by further enhancing the comprehensive support platform for small and medium-sized enterprises."
전북대, 중소기업 연구인력 양성지원사업 계속 선정
전북대학교가 중소기업 연구개발 인력 양성을 위한 정부 지원 사업을 이어가며 지역 산업 경쟁력 강화에 나선다.
전북대는 산학협력중점사업단 산하 연구인력혁신센터가 중소벤처기업부의 ‘2026년 중소기업 연구인력 현장맞춤형 양성지원사업’ 계속 지원 과제로 선정됐다고 13일 밝혔다.
연구인력혁신센터는 전북지역산업진흥원과 컨소시엄을 구성해 2024년부터 지역 중소기업의 연구개발 경쟁력 강화를 위한 인력 양성과 공급을 지원해 왔다. 최근 2년간 지역 산업 수요에 맞춘 인력 매칭을 통해 221명의 구직자를 지역 중소기업과 연결했다.
올해 사업은 연구인력 120여 명을 양성하고, 중소기업과의 매칭을 통해 최대 4개월간 기업 인턴십을 지원하는 데 중점을 둔다. 참여 연구인력은 기업의 기술 애로 해결을 위한 연구개발 프로젝트를 직접 발굴·수행하게 되며, 이 가운데 40개 프로젝트에는 각각 1000만원의 연구개발 자금이 지원된다.
우수 성과를 낸 6개 프로젝트는 신진·고경력 연구인력 채용지원사업과 연계돼, 해당 인력을 채용한 기업에는 최대 3년간 인건비의 50%가 지원된다.
국경수 연구인력혁신센터장은 “중소기업 종합지원 플랫폼을 더욱 고도화해 인재가 지역에 머물고 기업이 기술 혁신으로 도약하는 선순환 생태계 조성에 힘쓰겠다”고 말했다.
