The National Gugak Center's Creative Music Band and the National Gugak Center's Changgeukdan will hold a performance titled "Together as One" on the 28th at 3 p.m. at the National Gugak Center's Yeowondang.
According to the National Gugak Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun), this collaborative performance is a significant occasion as the National Gugak Center's Creative Music Band will be returning to the stage of the National Gugak Center after about 20 years since 2007. The event aims to expand the opportunities for local audiences to enjoy traditional Korean music through exchanges between the National Gugak Center and its affiliated institutions, as well as to share the artistic capabilities of the Creative Music Band with local artists. The performance will feature a collaborative stage by the National Gugak Center's Creative Music Band and the National Gugak Center's Changgeukdan.
The program will showcase a diverse collaboration of traditional vocal and instrumental music, with a special stage allowing the audience to experience the essence of traditional vocal music through the performance of "Woljeongmyeong" and "Pyunsudae Yeop" arranged by Kim A-sung, performed by Im Hwan, a holder of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Jeonbuk Province. The fusion of the noble spirit of sijo and gayageum with majestic Korean instrumental music is expected to evoke a profound sense of awe.
Additionally, the performance will include a rendition of "Minyo Yeongok" arranged by Kim Sung-guk, which was first performed and well-received at the National Gugak Center's "New Year Gugak Concert" earlier this year. Members of the vocal departments from the National Gugak Center's Seoul, Minyo, Namdo, and Busan Gugak Centers participated in the performance, garnering attention. In this performance, members of the National Gugak Center's Minyo Band and the National Gugak Center's Changgeukdan will collaborate to present a stage where Gyeonggi, Seodo, and Namdo minyo styles converge.

국립국악원 창작악단이 오는 28일 오후 3시 국립민속국악원 예원당에서 과 국립민속국악원 창극단이 함께하는 <하나되어> 공연을 개최한다.
국립민속국악원(원장 김중현)에 따르면 이번 교류 공연은 국립국악원 창작악단이 2007년 이후 약 20년 만에 국립민속국악원 무대에 다시 오르는 뜻깊은 자리다. 국립국악원과 소속 국악원 간 상호 교류를 바탕으로 지역 관객의 국악관현악 향유 기회를 확대하고, 창작악단의 예술적 역량을 지역 현장의 예술인과 공유하고자 마련했다. 공연은 국립국악원 창작악단의 국악관현악과 국립민속국악원 창극단이 함께 꾸미는 협력 무대다.
전통 성악과 기악이 어우러진 다채로운 협연 프로그램을 선보이며, 특히 이번 공연에서는 전통 성악의 정수인 정가(正歌)의 진수를 맛볼 수 있는 특별한 무대가 마련된다. 전북특별자치도 무형유산 시조창(완제) 보유자인 임환 명인이 김아성 편곡의 ‘성악과 관현악 우조시조 <월정명>, 남창가곡 <편수대엽>’을 협연한다. 선비들의 고고한 정신이 깃든 시조와 가곡이 웅장한 국악관현악과 만나 어떤 장엄한 감동을 자아낼지 기대를 모은다.
올해 초 국립국악원 ‘새해국악연’에서 초연되어 사랑받은 김성국 편곡의 〈민요연곡〉을 다시 한번 선보인다. 당시 국립국악원 서울·민속·남도·부산 국악원 성악 단원들이 함께 참여해 화제를 모은 바 있다. 이번 공연에서는 국립국악원 민속악단과 국립민속국악원 창극단 단원들이 함께 협연하여 경기·서도·남도 민요가 어우러지는 무대를 선보인다. 경기민요 채수현(국립국악원 민속악단 부수석), 성슬기(국립국악원 민속악단), 서도민요 김민경(국립국악원 민속악단), 장효선(국립국악원 민속악단), 남도민요 김송(국립민속국악원 창극단), 현미(국립민속국악원 창극단)가 참여해 지역별 민요의 다양한 색채를 들려줄 예정이다.
이와 함께 국립국악원 창작악단의 협연곡으로 대금 명인 원장현이 구성한 독주곡 〈춤산조〉를 바탕으로 국악관현악과 함께 대금·소금·가야금이 어우러진 ‘3중주 협주곡〈무산향〉’이 연주된다. 국립국악원 창작악단 소속의 서은영(가야금), 최혜림(아쟁), 김용수(대금) 등 정상급 연주자들이 협연자로 나서 섬세하고도 깊이 있는 연주를 들려줄 예정이다.
또한, 김기범 편곡의 ‘세계재즈기행’은 국악관현악으로 세계 각국의 재즈 음악을 표현하는 이색적인 무대로 관객들에게 신선한 즐거움을 선사한다.
공연의 대미는 우리 민족의 정서를 담은 곡들로 장식된다. 김백찬 편곡의 <아리랑, 희망가>는 김정훈(국립민속국악원 창극단)의 호소력 짙은 목소리로 재해석되어 관객들에게 따뜻한 위로와 희망의 메시지를 전한다. 마지막으로, 최경만 구성, 계성원 편곡의 ‘국악관현악과 호적을 위한 <호적풍류>’가 연주된다. 태평소의 힘찬 가락이 돋보이는 이 곡은 국립국악원 창작악단의 박계전 단원이 협연하여, 경기제 태평소 선율과 경기시나위 가락을 바탕으로 태평소 특유의 힘찬 음색과 호방한 멋을 담은 역동적인 연주로 공연을 화려하게 마무리한다.
