The regular exhibition 'Unspoken Things' by the glass art exhibition planning group 'Yuriro Project' will be held at the Seohakdong Photo Art Museum in Jeonju from the 24th to April 12th. The viewing hours are from 10:30 am to 6:00 pm, and the museum is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.
'Yuriro Project' is a non-profit exhibition planning group formed by glass art artists from across the country in 2022, and after exhibitions in Cheongju, Seoul, and Busan, they continue their exhibitions in Jeonju. With each exhibition, they reflect the characteristics of the hosting region in their works, emphasizing the collaboration and exchange process among artists beyond a simple group exhibition.
This exhibition starts from the local legend of Jeonju, the 'Dragon's Head Myth.' The story, which was intended to rise to the sky but never completed, contains questions about human will, desires, and the limits encountered in the process. The participating 15 artists express these themes through the use of light and shadow in stained glass from their own perspectives.
In particular, this project involves glass art artists from various regions forming a network to share experiences and information, presenting the potential for the expansion of glass medium art, which is relatively less known in Korea. Visitors can experience stained glass up close and discover new aspects of glass art.
The Seohakdong Photo Art Museum, where the exhibition is held, is a space preserved in a traditional Korean house structure, and the stained glass works blending with natural light are expected to convey the unique emotions of Jeonju more deeply.
Fifteen artists, including Kim Soyeon, Kim Eunwoo, Park Hye-ran, Bae Yohan, Seo Hana, Son Sangwoo, Yoon So-yoon, Lee Hye-ran, Im Gyurin, Jang Jueun, Jo Hyoyeon, Jo Soojung, Jo Yuna, Cheon Young-a, and Taermon, are participating in this exhibition.

전주 서학동사진미술관, 유리 공예 전시 ‘말하지 않은 것들’ 개최
전주 지역 설화인 ‘용머리 신화’에서 전시 출발
전주 서학동사진미술관에서 유리 공예 전시 기획 그룹 ‘유리로 프로젝트’의 정기 전시 ‘말하지 않은 것들’이 ‘24일부터 4월 12일까지 열린다. 관람 시간은 오전 10시 30분부터 오후 6시까지이며, 매주 월요일은 휴관한다. 입장료는 무료다.
‘유리로 프로젝트’는 2022년 전국의 유리 공예 작가들이 모여 결성한 비영리 전시 기획 그룹으로, 청주·서울·부산에 이어 전주에서 전시를 이어가고 있다. 이들은 매 전시마다 개최 지역의 특성을 작품에 반영하며, 단순한 그룹전을 넘어 작가 간 협업과 교류의 과정을 중요하게 다뤄왔다.
이번 전시는 전주의 지역 설화인 ‘용머리 신화’에서 출발한다. 하늘로 오르려 했지만 끝내 완성되지 못한 이야기 속에는 인간의 의지와 욕망, 그리고 그 과정에서 마주하는 한계에 대한 질문이 담겨 있다. 참여 작가 15인은 스테인드글라스의 빛과 그림자를 활용해 이러한 주제를 각자의 시선으로 풀어낸다.
특히 이번 프로젝트는 다양한 지역에서 활동하는 유리 공예 작가들이 참여해 경험과 정보를 공유하는 네트워크를 형성하고, 국내에서 상대적으로 저변이 좁은 유리 매체 예술의 확장 가능성을 제시한다는 점에서 의미를 더한다. 관람객들은 스테인드글라스를 보다 가까이에서 경험하며 유리 예술의 새로운 면모를 접할 수 있다.
전시가 열리는 서학동사진미술관은 한옥 구조를 살린 공간으로, 자연광과 어우러진 스테인드글라스 작품이 전주 특유의 정서를 더욱 깊이 있게 전달할 것으로 기대된다.
이번 전시에는 김소연, 김은우, 박혜란, 배요한, 서하나, 손상우, 윤소윤, 이혜란, 임규린, 장주은, 정보연, 조수정, 조유나, 천영아, 태르몬 등 총 15명의 작가가 참여한다.
