On the 1st, the Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held an explanatory meeting on the '2026 First Half Principal Recruitment Promotion' at the main office's Changjonarae audiovisual room, aiming to promote the activation of principal recruitment and enhance understanding of the system.
About 100 people, including officials from schools eligible for the principal recruitment, interested educators, school operation committee members, and parents, attended the meeting and showed a high level of interest.
During the meeting, the key contents of the principal recruitment promotion, eligibility criteria by type, application and selection procedures, and examples of internal and open operation were explained.
As of September 1st this year, the schools eligible for the principal recruitment promotion are 38 elementary schools and 20 middle schools. Among the eligible schools, the principal can be designated within two-thirds of the vacancy range of the schools with principal vacancies.
Schools wishing to participate in the principal recruitment promotion should apply by the 21st after collecting opinions from school members and deliberation by the school operation committee. The provincial education office will designate implementing schools in mid-May and proceed with final appointments through school and education office unit evaluations starting from June.
Kim Nak-hoon, head of the teacher personnel department, expressed hope that the understanding of the principal recruitment promotion among school members would increase through this meeting, stating, "We will do our best to appoint the most suitable person who will lead school changes and take responsibility for student growth."
전북교육청, 상반기 교장공모제 설명회 개최
전북교육청은 1일 본청 창조나래 시청각실에서 ‘2026년 상반기 교장공모제 설명회’를 열고 교장공모제 활성화와 제도 이해도 제고에 나섰다.
이날 설명회에는 교장공모제 대상학교 관계자와 관심 있는 교직원, 학교운영위원, 학부모 등 100여 명이 참석해 높은 관심을 보였다.
설명회에서는 교장공모제의 주요 내용과 유형별 지원 자격, 신청 및 지정 절차, 내부형·개방형 운영 사례 등이 안내됐다.
올해 9월 1일자 교장공모제 대상학교는 초등 38개교, 중등 20개교이며, 대상 학교 가운데 교장 결원 학교의 3분의 2 범위 안에서 지정할 수 있다.
교장공모제를 희망하는 학교는 학교 구성원 의견 수렴과 학교운영위원회 심의를 거쳐 오는 21일까지 신청하면 된다. 도교육청은 5월 중 실시학교를 지정하고, 6월부터 학교와 교육지원청 단위 심사를 거쳐 최종 임용을 추진할 계획이다.
김낙훈 교원인사과장은 “이번 설명회를 통해 학교 구성원들의 교장공모제 이해도가 높아지길 기대한다”며 “학교 변화를 이끌고 학생 성장을 책임질 적임자가 임용될 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
