On the 18th, at 2 p.m., the National Gugak Center (Director Kim Joong-hyun) will present the first performance of the 2026 'Sound Pan' concert at the National Gugak Center Yeumheon Hall, featuring the famous singer Wang Ki-seok performing the traditional pansori song "Sugungga."
Wang Ki-seok, a holder of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Pansori Sugungga in Jeollabuk-do Province, will showcase the musical characteristics of Sugungga and the charm of pansori along with the talented singer Jang Ju-ri during the approximately 1 hour and 30-minute performance.
Sugungga is one of the five basic stories of pansori, passed down based on the Sugungga story. It tells the story of a man trying to obtain a rabbit's liver to cure the king's illness, and the rabbit's clever escape. The performance combines humor, satire, tension, and relaxation, delivering the dramatic fun unique to pansori.

국립민속국악원 ‘소리 판’ 명창무대, 왕기석의 미산제 수궁가 선보여

국립민속국악원(원장 김중현)은 18일 오후 2시국립민속국악원 예음헌에서 2026 ‘소리 판’ 명창무대의 첫 공연으로 왕기석 명창의 미산제 수궁가를 선보인다.
전북특별자치도 무형유산 판소리 수궁가 예능보유자인 왕기석 명창은 약 1시간 30분 동안 진행되는 이번 무대에서 고수 장주리와 함께 미산제 수궁가의 음악적 특징과 판소리의 묘미를 들려줄 예정이다.
미산제 수궁가는 판소리 다섯 바탕 가운데 하나인 수궁가를 바탕으로 전승된 소리다. 용왕의 병을 고치기 위해 토끼의 간을 구하려는 자라와, 이를 꾀로 벗어나는 토끼의 이야기를 중심으로, 해학과 풍자, 긴장과 이완이 어우러지며 판소리 특유의 극적 재미를 전한다.
