The organizing committee of the Jeonju World Sound Festival, celebrating its 25th anniversary, led by Chairman Choi Cheol (hereinafter referred to as the Sound Festival), is accepting applications until the 20th for the next-generation sound performers for the 2026 stage of "Five Foundations of Young Pansori."
Previously operated under the name "Youth Praise Young Pansori" until last year, the event will be newly presented this year as "Five Foundations of Young Pansori" to more directly convey the meaning and purpose of the performance.
"Five Foundations of Young Pansori" is one of the flagship programs of the Sound Festival that opens the stage to young sound performers leading the future of our traditional sound, adding new resonance on top of tradition. One performer will be selected for each of the five foundations of Pansori (Jeokbyeokga, Sugungga, Chunhyangga, Simcheongga, Heungboga), and they are expected to present a deeply profound singing stage for each foundation.
The eligibility for participation is from those born in 1990 to 2007, capable of performing for at least 60 minutes, and any sound performer who can participate in the Sound Festival schedule can apply. The performance will consist of approximately 60 minutes of singing for each foundation, with a stage adorned with explanations to aid the audience's understanding.
Applications are accepted until 3 p.m. on the 20th, and interested individuals can submit their application form, personal information consent form, and a sound recording audio file of at least 15 minutes but no more than 30 minutes via email (soriprogram5@sorifestival.com).
The judging will be conducted through a blind evaluation by Pansori experts based on the submitted audio files. The final selection results will be announced on the official website of the Sound Festival on the 28th. The final five selected sound performers will receive support for their performance, including appearance fees, stage, sound equipment, promotion, etc., and during the 2026 Sound Festival period, they will take the stage of "Five Foundations of Young Pansori" to face the audience with their unique sound.

전주세계소리축제, ‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’소리꾼 모집
25주년을 맞은 전주세계소리축제조직위원회(조직위원장 최철, 이하 소리축제)가 2026년 ‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’ 무대에 설 차세대 소리꾼을 오는 20일까지 공개 모집한다.
지난해까지 ‘청춘예찬 젊은판소리’ 명칭으로 운영되었지만 올해부터는 공연의 의미와 취지를 더욱 직관적으로 전달하기 위해 ‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’으로 바꿔 새롭게 선보인다.
‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’은 우리 소리의 미래를 이끌 젊은 소리꾼들에게 무대의 문을 열어주고, 전통 위에 새로운 울림을 더하는 소리축제의 대표 프로그램 중 하나다. 판소리 다섯바탕(적벽가, 수궁가, 춘향가, 심청가, 흥보가)의 각 바탕별로 한 명씩, 총 5인을 선발하며 이들은 각 바탕별 깊이 있는 완창 무대를 선보일 예정이다.
참가 자격은 1990년생부터 2007년생까지로, 60분 이상 소리가 가능하며 소리축제 일정에 참여할 수 있는 소리꾼이라면 누구나 지원할 수 있다. 공연은 바탕별 60분 내외의 연창으로 구성되며, 관객의 이해를 돕는 해설이 더해진 무대로 꾸며진다.
접수는 20일 오후 3시까지이며, 참가신청서 및 개인정보동의서, 15분 이상 30분 이내의 소리 녹음 음원 파일을 이메일(soriprogram5@sorifestival.com)로 제출하면 된다.
심사는 제출된 음원을 바탕으로 판소리 전문가들의 블라인드 심사로 진행된다. 최종 선정 결과는 오는 28일 소리축제 공식 홈페이지를 통해 발표된다. 자세한 내용과 신청서 양식은 소리축제 홈페이지(www.sorifestival.com) 공지사항에서 확인할 수 있다.
최종 선정된 5인의 소리꾼에게는 출연료와 함께 공연을 위한 무대, 음향, 홍보 등이 지원되며, 2026 소리축제 기간 동안 ‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’ 무대에 올라 자신만의 소리로 관객과 마주하게 된다.
김정수 소리축제 집행위원장은 “‘젊은판소리 다섯바탕’은 전통 판소리의 맥을 잇는 동시에 새로운 감각을 더하는 중요한 무대”라며 “실력과 가능성을 갖춘 젊은 소리꾼들이 이번 무대를 통해 더 큰 무대로 나아가는 출발점이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
