Jeonju City is expanding its customized lifelong learning programs in collaboration with three local universities.
On the 10th, the city signed a business agreement with Jeonju Technical College's Lifelong Education Center, Jeonju University's Industry-Academia Cooperation Division, and Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries' Lifelong Education Center at the Jeonju Lifelong Learning Center for the "Local University Collaboration Lifelong Education Activation Project."
This agreement was established to broaden practical education opportunities that anyone in the community can participate in by linking the educational infrastructure of universities with the lifelong learning demands of the region.
According to the agreement, Jeonju Technical College will operate a course on understanding and practicing green lifestyles, as well as vocational training programs for baking and pastry making for socially vulnerable groups. Jeonju University plans to support qualification-based education, social volunteering, and capacity building for career development through the "Wellness Flower Tea Expert Training Course." Korea National College of Agriculture and Fisheries will promote the "3 Agricultural Projects Revitalizing the Region" based on expertise in agriculture, forestry, livestock, and fisheries.
Each university will enhance the professionalism of education by involving faculty members directly and supporting practical and field-oriented program operations.
Lee Young-seop, the head of the Jeonju City Library Lifelong Learning Department, stated, "Through cooperation with local universities, we can provide more tightly knit educational programs needed by citizens," adding, "We will further strengthen the foundation of Jeonju as a lifelong learning city."
전주시, 3개 대학과 평생학습 협약…시민 맞춤형 교육 확대
전주시가 지역 3개 대학과 손잡고 시민 맞춤형 평생학습 프로그램 확대에 나선다.
시는 10일 전주시평생학습관에서 전주기전대학교 평생교육원, 전주대학교 산학협력단, 한국농수산대학교 평생교육원과 ‘전주시 평생학습 활성화를 위한 지역대학 연계 평생교육 활성화 사업’ 업무협약을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 대학의 전문 교육 인프라와 지역의 평생학습 수요를 연계해 시민 누구나 참여할 수 있는 실용 중심 교육 기회를 넓히기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 전주기전대학교는 녹색 라이프스타일 이해와 실천 과정을 운영하고, 사회 취약계층을 위한 제과·제빵 직업훈련 프로그램도 진행한다. 전주대학교는 ‘웰니스 꽃차 전문가 양성과정’을 통해 자격 기반 교육과 사회봉사, 취·창업 역량 강화를 지원할 계획이다. 한국농수산대학교는 농업·임업·축산·어업 분야 전문성을 바탕으로 ‘지역을 살리는 3농 프로젝트’를 추진한다.
각 대학은 전공 교수진이 직접 참여해 교육의 전문성을 높이고, 실습과 현장 중심 프로그램 운영을 지원할 예정이다.
이영섭 전주시 도서관평생학습본부장은 “지역대학과의 협력을 통해 시민들에게 필요한 교육 프로그램을 더욱 촘촘하게 제공할 수 있게 됐다”며 “전주형 평생학습도시 기반을 더욱 탄탄하게 다져가겠다”고 말했다.
