The 27th Jeonju International Film Festival, co-executive directors Min Sung-wook and Jung Jun-ho, has announced the schedule for the program '100 Films 100 Posters,' which has been gaining attention in the domestic and international film industry and visual design field.
Through the main event 'The 12th 100 Films 100 Posters,' the Jeonju International Film Festival will showcase posters of 100 screening films created through collaboration between the festival and 100 graphic designers or teams. The exhibition will be held at the Jeonju Cultural Center's Culture Palette from April 29 to May 17, with designer Kim Eun-ji participating as a curator. A poster shop will be set up at the Culture Palette, and a poster postcard book will be available for sale. Additionally, a banner poster exhibition will be held at the Film Street from April 29 to May 23.
The Jeonju International Film Festival has been operating the themed event 'Salon' since last year to explore the intersection of film and design. 'Salon 100 Films 100 Posters' deals with the visual culture of theaters under the theme of 'Cinema Town' and consists of a themed exhibition and roundtable discussions.
Through the themed exhibition, the current domestic theater culture will be examined through photos and videos. Works by four photographers - Kim Seon-ik, Jeon So-young, Sung Ui-seok, and Hyun Da-hye - who have independently recorded the current state of domestic cinemas inside and out, will be exhibited. An introduction to the film 'Children of the Ruins' by the Daegu Film Excavation Team will be presented in video format. This work deals with the traces of the 1990s Daegu Cinema Tech and raises questions about the past, present, and future of cinemas.
The roundtable discussions held twice on May 1 will focus on the role of design in leading a 'cinematic experience.' Through the design activities surrounding theaters, a part of urban visual culture, experts will explore cinematic experiences. The session 'Designing Theaters' will be held from 10:30 am to 12:00 pm, featuring designers Kim Eun-ji, Choi Ji-woong, and Hyun Jun-hyuk. The session 'Designing Cinemas as Places' will take place from 1:30 pm to 3:00 pm, with representatives Kim Sang-min, curator Park Ye-won, and representative Lee Han-jae. The participation fee for the roundtable discussions is 10,000 won each, and reservations can be made through the official website of the Jeonju International Film Festival.
Furthermore, a 'Poster Design Workshop' will be conducted, inviting designers with extensive experience in the field of poster design. This year's workshop will be led by designer Kim Sung-gu and will be held at the Culture Palette in Jeonju from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm on May 10. The workshop fee is 20,000 won, and the application process will be announced on the Jeonju International Film Festival website at a later date. Applications will start on April 21 and will close when the capacity is reached on a first-come, first-served basis.

전주국제영화제, ‘100 Films 100 Posters’ 프로그램 일정 공개
제27회 전주국제영화제(공동집행위원장 민성욱·정준호)가 국내외 영화계와 시각디자인 분야에서 주목받아 온 ‘100 Films 100 Posters’의 프로그램 일정을 공개했다.
주전시인 ‘제12회 100 Films 100 Posters’를 통해서는 전주국제영화제와 100명(팀)의 그래픽 디자이너가 협업해 상영작 100편의 포스터를 선보인다. 전시는 4월 29일부터 5월 17일까지 문화공판장 작당 문화팔레트에서 개최되며, 김은지 디자이너가 큐레이터로 참여한다. 문화공판장 작당에는 포스터숍이 마련되며, 포스터 엽서집을 판매할 예정이다. 영화의거리에서도 4월 29일부터 5월 23일까지 현수막 포스터 전시를 만나볼 수 있다.
전주국제영화제는 영화와 디자인의 교차점을 탐색하기 위해 지난해부터 주제 행사 ‘살롱’을 운영하고 있다. ‘살롱 100 Films 100 Posters’는 ‘시네마타운’을 주제로 극장의 시각문화를 다루며, 주제전과 라운드테이블로 구성된다.
주제전을 통해서는 현시점의 국내 극장 문화를 사진과 영상으로 살펴본다. 김선익, 전소영, 성의석, 현다혜 등 4명의 사진가가 오늘날 국내 영화관 안팎을 독자적인 시선으로 기록한 작업이 전시된다. 영상으로는 대구영화발굴단의 〈폐허의 아이들〉이 소개된다. 이 작품은 1990년대 대구 시네마테크의 흔적을 다루며, 과거와 오늘, 그리고 내일의 영화관에 관한 질문을 던진다.
5월 1일 두 차례 열리는 라운드테이블에서는 ‘시네마틱한 경험’을 이끄는 디자인의 역할에 주목한다. 도심 속 시각문화의 한 축인 극장을 둘러싼 디자인 행위를 매개로, 시네마틱한 경험을 전문가들과 함께 살펴본다. 오전 10시 30분부터 낮 12시까지 이어지는 ‘디자이너, 영화관을 디자인하다’ 세션에는 김은지 디자이너와 최지웅 디자이너, 현준혁 디자이너가 참여한다. 오후 1시 30분부터 오후 3시까지는 ‘장소 만들기로서의 영화관 디자인’ 세션이 마련되며 김상민 대표, 박예원 큐레이터, 이한재 대표가 자리한다. 라운드테이블 참가비는 각 1만 원이며 예매는 전주국제영화제 공식 홈페이지에서 가능하다.
또한, 포스터 디자인 분야에서 오랜 경험을 가진 디자이너를 초빙하는 ‘포스터 디자인 워크숍’도 진행된다. 올해 워크숍은 김성구 디자이너가 강사로 참여하며, 5월 10일 오전 10시부터 오후 6시까지 문화공판장 작당에서 열린다. 수강료는 2만 원이며, 신청 방법은 추후 전주국제영화제 홈페이지에 공지될 예정이다. 신청은 4월 21일에 시작되며, 선착순 접수 후 정원 모집 완료 시 마감된다.
