Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province has started actively responding to the selection process for the agreement-type specialized high school competition in 2026 by establishing a cooperative system among local governments, educational authorities, companies, and schools.
On the 17th, Jeollabuk Province announced that they signed a '2026 Agreement-Type Specialized High School Consortium Business Agreement' at the La Han Hotel in Jeonju, with the participation of about 30 organizations including Kim Jong-hoon, the Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs, and Yoo Jung-ki, the Acting Superintendent of Education, as well as city and county officials, companies, and schools.
For this competition, Namwon Yongseong High School will participate in the smart agriculture and life convergence field, while Wongwang Health High School will participate in the bio-healthcare field. Consortia involving local governments, universities, companies, etc., have been formed around each school.
According to the agreement, the relevant organizations will cooperate in creating favorable conditions for settlement, providing financial support, expanding autonomy in the education curriculum, supporting teachers, connecting field practice with recruitment, and jointly developing customized educational programs. The plan is to nurture practical talents needed for the regional industry.
The agreement-type specialized high school is a Ministry of Education competitive project, and if selected, it will receive various supports such as up to 4.5 billion won in special subsidies over five years and autonomy in operating educational programs.
Jeollabuk Province, following the selection of Korea Cheese Science High School in 2024 and Hydrogen Energy High School in 2025, will achieve three consecutive successes if selected in this competition.
Kim Jong-hoon, the Deputy Governor for Economic Affairs of Jeollabuk Province, stated, "Creating a structure where local talents learn, work, and settle in Jeollabuk is an important starting point," and said, "We will actively support the creation of substantial results linked to education and industry."
전북자치도, 협약형 특성화고 공모 대응 본격화
전북특별자치도가 2026년 협약형 특성화고 공모 선정을 위해 지자체·교육청·기업·학교 간 협력체계를 구축하고 본격 대응에 나섰다.
전북자치도는 17일 전주 라한호텔에서 김종훈 경제부지사와 유정기 교육감 권한대행, 시·군, 기업, 학교 등 30여 개 기관이 참석한 가운데 ‘2026년 협약형 특성화고 컨소시엄 업무협약’을 체결했다고 밝혔다.
이번 공모에는 남원용성고가 스마트 농생명 융합 분야, 원광보건고가 바이오·헬스케어 분야로 참여한다. 각 학교를 중심으로 지자체와 대학, 기업 등이 참여하는 컨소시엄도 구성됐다.
협약에 따라 관계 기관들은 정주 여건 조성과 행·재정 지원, 교육과정 자율성 확대, 교원 지원, 현장실습과 채용 연계, 맞춤형 교육과정 공동 개발 등에 협력하게 된다. 이를 통해 지역 산업에 필요한 실무형 인재를 양성한다는 계획이다.
협약형 특성화고는 교육부 공모사업으로, 선정되면 5년간 최대 45억 원의 특별교부금과 함께 교육과정 운영 자율성 등 다양한 지원이 제공된다.
전북자치도는 2024년 한국치즈과학고, 2025년 수소에너지고가 잇따라 선정된 데 이어, 이번 공모까지 선정될 경우 3년 연속 성과를 거두게 된다.
김종훈 전북자치도 경제부지사는 “지역 인재가 전북에서 배우고 일하며 정착하는 구조를 만드는 중요한 출발점”이라며 “교육과 산업이 연계된 실질적 성과 창출을 위해 적극 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
