On the 23rd, Jeongeup City will conduct a joint inspection of the kindergarten school buses in the area to create a safe environment for children traveling to and from school.
The inspection will take place at the parking lot of the agricultural wholesale market, with Jeongeup City, Jeongeup Police Station, and the Korea Transportation Safety Authority forming a joint inspection team. The target of the inspection is 40 kindergartens in the area currently operating school buses.
Of the 40 vehicles, 21 will undergo on-site inspections by the joint inspection team, while the remaining 19 will conduct self-inspections simultaneously.
The main inspection criteria include compliance with safety belt specifications suitable for children's body types, installation of disembarkation confirmation devices, and other vehicle safety standards. They also plan to check whether operators and drivers have submitted safety operation records and whether relevant individuals, including accompanying guardians, have completed safety education.
In addition to on-site inspections, Jeongeup City will also conduct guidance activities for compliance with safety rules within children protection zones. If any deficiencies are found during the inspection, immediate corrections will be instructed on-site, and prompt improvements will be requested.
The city plans to continue inspections in the second half of the year for facilities not included in this first half inspection.
Mayor Lee Hak-soo stated, "The school buses that children use every day must prioritize safety above all else," adding, "We will establish a tight safety net so that children can travel to and from school with peace of mind, allowing parents to go about their daily lives without worry."
정읍시, 어린이집 통학버스 합동점검 실시
정읍시가 어린이들의 안전한 등하원 환경 조성을 위해 오는 23일 관내 어린이집 통학버스를 대상으로 합동점검을 실시한다.
이번 점검은 농산물도매시장 주차장에서 진행되며, 정읍시와 정읍경찰서, 한국교통안전공단이 합동 점검반을 꾸려 실시한다. 점검 대상은 현재 통학버스를 운영 중인 관내 어린이집 40개소다.
이 가운데 차량 21대는 합동 점검반이 현장 점검을 하고, 나머지 19대는 자체 점검을 병행할 예정이다.
주요 점검 내용은 통학버스 신고 여부를 비롯해 어린이 체형에 맞는 안전띠 규격 준수, 하차 확인 장치 설치 여부 등 차량 안전기준이다. 또 운영자와 운전자의 안전운행기록 제출 의무 이행 여부, 동승 보호자를 포함한 관계자의 안전교육 이수 여부도 확인할 계획이다.
정읍시는 현장 점검과 함께 어린이 보호구역 내 안전수칙 준수를 위한 계도 활동도 병행한다. 점검 결과 미비 사항이 확인되면 현장에서 즉시 시정하도록 지도하고 신속한 보완을 요청할 방침이다.
시는 이번 상반기 점검에 포함되지 않은 시설에 대해서도 하반기 중 순차적으로 점검을 이어갈 계획이다.
이학수 정읍시장은 “아이들이 매일 이용하는 통학버스는 무엇보다 안전이 최우선이어야 한다”며 “아이들은 안심하고 등원하고 부모는 마음 놓고 일상을 보낼 수 있도록 촘촘한 안전망을 구축하겠다”고 말했다.
