The Jeonju Education Support Office in Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province conducted a basic training program to enhance learning coaching skills for middle school teachers in the region.
The Jeonju Education Support Office announced that they held the "Basic Training for Middle School Learning Coaching Practiced in the Classroom by 2026" for 19 middle school teachers on three occasions on the 10th, 11th, and 17th of last month.
This training, totaling 12 hours, focused on understanding and strategies of learning coaching, diagnosing and interpreting learners based on learning abilities, designing and applying learning counseling coaching programs.
Especially designed as a practice-centered training program linked to actual cases for immediate application in school settings. The training comprehensively examined students' learning in four areas: cognition, motivation, emotion, and behavior, and discussed the actual practice of learning coaching to help students discover their potential and improve and maintain learning on their own.
The participating teachers familiarized themselves with learning ability profiling and interpretation counseling methods, designed and applied learning counseling coaching programs by domain, enhancing their on-site application skills.
The Jeonju Education Support Office expects that this training will serve as an opportunity to connect the diagnosis of overall learning abilities with tailored support, rather than simply viewing learning difficulties as a matter of grades.
Education Superintendent Chae Seon-young stated, "This training is significant in helping teachers deepen their understanding of students' learning characteristics and develop learning coaching skills that can be applied in the classroom," adding, "We will continue to provide ongoing support to ensure that personalized learning support for each student can take root in school settings."
전주교육지원청, 중등 학습코칭 기본연수 운영
전북특별자치도전주교육지원청이 관내 중학교 교사를 대상으로 학습코칭 역량 강화를 위한 기본연수를 운영했다.
전주교육지원청은 지난 10일과 11일, 17일 세 차례에 걸쳐 중학교 교사 19명을 대상으로 ‘2026 교실에서 실천하는 중등 학습코칭 기본연수’를 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 연수는 총 12시간 과정으로, 학습코칭의 이해와 전략, 학습역량 기반 학습자 진단 및 해석, 학습상담코칭 프로그램 설계와 적용 등에 중점을 두고 운영됐다.
특히 학교 현장에서 바로 활용할 수 있도록 실제 사례와 연계한 실천 중심 연수로 구성됐다. 연수에서는 학생의 학습을 인지·동기·정서·행동 등 네 영역에서 종합적으로 살펴보고, 학생이 자신의 잠재력을 발견해 스스로 학습을 향상·유지할 수 있도록 돕는 학습코칭의 실제를 다뤘다.
참가 교원들은 학습역량 프로파일링과 해석 상담법을 익히고, 영역별 학습상담코칭 프로그램을 직접 설계·적용해보며 현장 적용 역량을 높였다.
전주교육지원청은 이번 연수가 학습부진을 단순한 성적 문제로 보지 않고 학습역량 전반에 대한 진단과 맞춤형 지원으로 연결하는 계기가 될 것으로 기대하고 있다.
채선영 교육장은 “이번 연수는 교사들이 학생의 학습 특성을 보다 깊이 이해하고 교실에서 실제로 적용할 수 있는 학습코칭 역량을 기르는 데 의미가 있다”며 “앞으로도 학생 개개인에 맞는 학습지원이 학교 현장에 안착할 수 있도록 지속적으로 지원하겠다”고 말했다.
