The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education conducted workplace education to enhance understanding of the obligation of political neutrality among public officials ahead of the nationwide local elections scheduled for June 3.
The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education announced that on the 17th, they conducted education on preventing illegal acts related to elections for all employees at the Changjo Narae audiovisual room.
This education was designed to ensure the fairness and credibility of the elections, focusing on actual possible violations such as the prohibition of public officials' involvement in elections and precautions when engaging in social media activities.
The main contents of the education included the obligation of political neutrality for public officials, restrictions and prohibitions under the Public Official Election Act, and limitations related to the Political Parties Act and Political Fund Act.
In particular, a professor invited from the Election Training Institute of the National Election Commission participated as a lecturer, conducting case-based lectures to help employees understand the issues.
Ahn Hong-il, the head of the General Affairs Department, stated, "The political neutrality of public officials is a fundamental principle for fair elections," and expressed hope that this education would help employees accurately understand relevant laws and prevent illegal acts in advance.
전북교육청, 공무원 정치적 중립 의무 직장교육 실시
전북교육청이 6월 3일 치러지는 전국동시지방선거를 앞두고 공무원의 정치적 중립 의무에 대한 이해를 높이기 위한 직장교육을 실시했다.
전북교육청은 17일 창조나래 시청각실에서 전 직원을 대상으로 선거 관련 위법행위 예방 교육을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 교육은 선거의 공정성과 신뢰성을 확보하기 위해 마련됐으며, 공무원의 선거관여행위 금지와 SNS 활동 시 유의사항 등 실제 발생 가능한 위반 사례를 중심으로 이뤄졌다.
주요 교육 내용은 공무원의 정치적 중립 의무, 공직선거법상 제한·금지 규정, 정당법 및 정치자금법 관련 제한 사항 등이다.
특히 중앙선거관리위원회 선거연수원 초빙교수가 강사로 참여해 사례 중심 강의를 진행하며 직원들의 이해를 도왔다.
안홍일 총무과장은 “공무원의 정치적 중립은 공정한 선거를 위한 기본 원칙”이라며 “이번 교육이 관련 법령을 정확히 이해하고 위법행위를 사전에 예방하는 데 도움이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
