The commemorative event for the 46th Disability Day, hosted by the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Association for the Physically Challenged, was successfully held at the Hwasan Sports Center in Jeonju. The event started with various programs such as performances by invited singers and harmonica players, followed by the reading of the Disability Rights Declaration and the presentation of commendations to 60 individuals who have contributed to the promotion of welfare for people with disabilities.
Approximately 1,000 people, including Governor Kim Kwan-yeong of Jeonbuk Province, officials from related organizations, people with disabilities, and their families, attended the event to share the significance of Disability Day.
The event, held to commemorate the 46th Disability Day, aimed to raise awareness of the rights and welfare of people with disabilities. It was a platform to convey hope and encouragement to individuals with physical disabilities and to recognize the contributions of those who have worked towards the welfare of people with disabilities.
Governor Kim Kwan-yeong stated, "Creating a society where everyone can enjoy 'ordinary daily life together' is the most important task for all residents of the province," and added, "I will continue to make efforts to foster an inclusive community where people with and without disabilities come together."
전북 '46회 장애인의 날' 기념행사 성료
전북특별자치도지체장애인협회가 주최한 '46회 장애인의 날' 기념행사가 전주 화산체육관에서 성료됐다. 이번 행사는 초대가수와 하모니카 공연 등 다채로운 프로그램으로 시작되어, 장애인 인권선언문 낭독과 장애인 복지 증진 유공자 60명에 대한 표창 수여로 이어졌다.
김관영 전북도지사를 비롯한 유관기관 관계자와 장애인 당사자, 가족 등 1,000여 명이 참석한 이번 행사에서는 장애인의 날의 의미를 공유하고 함께했다.
이번 행사는 46회를 맞이하는 장애인의 날을 기념하고, 장애인의 권리와 복지에 대한 인식 제고를 목적으로 열렸다. 지체장애인들에게 희망과 격려를 전하며, 장애인 복지에 기여한 유공자들을 공로 인정하는 자리였다.
김관영 도지사는 “도민 모두가 ‘당연한 일상을 함께 누릴 수 있는’ 사회를 만들어 가는 것이 가장 중요한 과제다”며 “앞으로도 장애인과 비장애인이 함께 어우러지는 포용적 공동체 조성을 위해 지속적으로 노력하겠다”고 말했다.
