Jeonbuk Hyundai, in cooperation with Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Office of Education and Hyundai Motor's Jeonju Plant, is starting a social contribution activity to support students at small schools in rural areas of the province with eco-friendly hydrogen buses for transportation and game viewing in a one-stop service.
This project targets students from small schools with less than 30 students in rural areas, allowing them to attend Jeonbuk Hyundai's home games (a total of 14 games) until October 18. It is expected that at least 500 students will be able to visit the stadium this year.
This initiative was planned to bridge the sports culture gap among local students who have had difficulty visiting the stadium due to geographical distance and lack of transportation, aiming to foster a sense of community.
Hyundai Motor's Jeonju Plant will provide 25-seater and 28-seater eco-friendly hydrogen buses produced directly by the plant for round-trip transportation from schools to Jeonju World Cup Stadium, while Jeonbuk Hyundai will provide lunch boxes, team souvenirs, and more to offer students a special game experience.
Furthermore, Jeonbuk Office of Education will support game tickets and sports safety insurance, and will also operate programs to maximize educational effects.
Jeonbuk Hyundai's Director Lee Do-hyun said, "As a local team, it is crucial to help students in the province easily access and enjoy soccer," adding, "Through this project, we hope students will directly support Jeonbuk Hyundai, experience the joy of sports, and feel pride in their region simultaneously."
Jeonbuk Hyundai, Jeonbuk Office of Education, and Hyundai Motor's Jeonju Plant plan to sign a three-party official memorandum of understanding (MOU) in the future, and as they are currently operating the project for the entire province, they plan to continue the project through ongoing collaboration.
전북현대, ‘작은학교 축구 관람 지원’ 나선다
전북현대가 전북특별자치도교육청, 현대자동차 전주공장과 협력해 친환경 수소버스로 도내 면 단위 작은학교 학생들에게 차량 이동부터 경기 관람까지 원스톱으로 지원하는 사회공헌 활동을 시작한다.
이번 사업은 도내 전교생 30명 이하 면 단위 작은학교 학생들을 대상으로 하며, 오는 10월 18일까지 진행되는 전북현대 홈경기(총 14경기)를 관람할 수 있도록 지원한다. 이를통해 올해 최소 500명의 학생들이 경기장을 찾을 수 있을 것으로 기대된다.
특히 그동안 지리적 거리와 이동 수단 부족으로 경기장 방문이 어려웠던 지역 학생들의 스포츠 문화 격차를 해소하고 공동체 의식을 함양하기 위해 기획되었다.
현대자동차 전주공장은 직접 생산한 25인승 및 28인승 친환경 수소버스를 지원해 학교에서 전주월드컵경기장까지 왕복 이동을 책임지며, 전북현대는 도시락, 구단 기념품 등을 지원해 학생들에게 특별한 경기 경험을 선사할 예정이다.
또한 전북교육청은 관람 티켓 및 스포츠 안전 보험을 지원하며, 교육적 효과를 극대화하기 위한 프로그램 운영도 함께 추진한다.
전북현대 이도현 단장은 “지역 연고 구단으로서 도내 학생들이 보다 쉽게 축구를 접하고 즐길 수 있도록 돕는 것은 매우 중요한 역할”이라며 “이번 사업을 통해 학생들이 전북현대를 직접 응원하며 스포츠의 즐거움과 지역에 대한 자긍심을 동시에 느끼길 기대한다”고 말했다.
한편 전북현대와 전북교육청 그리고 현대자동차 전주공장은 향후 3자간 공식 업무협약(MOU)을 체결할 예정이며, 현재 도내 전체 지역을 대상으로 사업을 운영하고 있는 만큼 향후에도 지속적인 협력을 통해 사업을 이어 나갈 계획인다.
