In celebration of Family Month in May, the National Gugak Center will present a children's performance series called 'Story Bundle' every Saturday afternoon at 3 p.m. from May 9th to 30th at the National Gugak Center's Yeowondang Hall.
'Story Bundle' is a performance series designed for children and family audiences to encounter traditional Korean music and arts in a friendly manner. In this performance, four different genres including "Byul and the Rainbow Bridge," "Today, the Song of Today," "Prosecutor Byeon's Escape Incident," and "Princess War" will take the stage in succession.
Before the performance, there will be a side event called 'Welcome to the Folk Village.' Various experiences such as exploring the Jirisan Maze, folk shops, finding the King of Jegichagi, flying rubber shoes, challenging the Tuho master, destiny Yutnori, acorn guessing master, and moving beans with Heejeong will be provided to add more enjoyment before the performance.
The performance will be free of charge, and reservations for viewing can be made through the Nuri House website. Those aged 36 months and above can attend, and detailed information can be found on the National Gugak Center's Nuri House (www.namwon.gugak.go.kr) and official social media channels.
An official from the National Gugak Center stated, "In celebration of Family Month, we have prepared this program for children and family audiences to enjoy the performance together and have diverse experiences," adding, "We hope that children will naturally encounter the joy of Korean music and traditional culture inside and outside the performance venue."
국립민속국악원, 어린이 공연 시리즈 ‘이야기 보따리’ 선보인다

국립민속국악원은 5월 가정의 달을 맞아 어린이 공연 시리즈 ‘이야기 보따리’를 오는 5월 9일부터 30일까지 매주 토요일 오후 3시 국립민속국악원 예원당에서 총 4회 선보인다.
‘이야기 보따리’는 어린이와 가족 관객이 국악과 전통예술을 친근하게 만날 수 있도록 마련한 공연 시리즈다. 이번 공연에서는 장르가 다른 네 작품 〈별이와 무지개다리〉, 〈오늘, 오늘이의 노래〉, 〈변검사자 탈출사건〉, 〈공주전〉이 차례로 무대에 오른다.
공연 전에는 부대행사 ‘웰컴투 민속촌’을 운영한다. 지리산 미로탐험, 민속상점, 딱지왕을 찾아라, 날아라 고무신, 도전! 투호 달인, 운명의 윷놀이, 알까기 마스터, 희정아씨와 콩 옮기기 등 다양한 체험을 마련해 공연 관람 전 즐거움을 더한다.
공연은 전석 무료로 진행되며, 관람은 누리집 사전예약을 통해 가능하다. 36개월 이상 관람할 수 있으며, 자세한 내용은 국립민속국악원 누리집(www.namwon.gugak.go.kr)과 공식 SNS를 통해 확인할 수 있다.
국립민속국악원 관계자는 “가정의 달을 맞아 어린이와 가족 관객이 함께 공연을 관람하고 다채로운 체험을 할 수 있도록 이번 프로그램을 마련했다”며 “어린이들이 공연장 안팎에서 국악과 전통문화의 즐거움을 자연스럽게 만나는 시간이 되기를 바란다”고 밝혔다.
