North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province held a 'Children's Day Festival' at the Children's Creative Experience Hall on the 5th to celebrate the 104th Children's Day.
The event started with a performance by the North Jeolla Children's Traditional Music Orchestra, followed by a commemorative speech by Governor Kim Gwan-young and a congratulatory speech by Lee Myeong-yeon, the Vice Chairman of the North Jeolla Special Self-Governing Province Council, and a commemorative performance with the children.
In particular, a time was set aside for four children to recite the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, reflecting on the meaning of children's rights.
This year's festival was divided into six theme zones: Enjoy-GO, Dream-GO, Experience-GO, Laugh-GO, Learn-GO, and Watch-GO. A total of 67 programs, including cooperative cup stacking games, virtual sports competitions, robot experiences, augmented reality experiences, puppet shows, and magic performances, were operated, receiving a positive response from children and families.
To cope with the crowd at the event venue, North Jeolla Province implemented a safety management system, including pre-event facility safety checks, deployment of safety personnel and ambulances, restrictions on the number of people at each booth, and contingency plans for inclement weather.
Governor Kim Gwan-young of North Jeolla Province stated, "Let's work together to create a North Jeolla where children can play happily and nurture their dreams," and added, "I will actively support policies to ensure that all children can grow up to be the future leaders."

전북특별자치도는 5일 어린이창의체험관에서 제104회 어린이날을 맞아 ‘어린이날 대축제’를 개최했다.
이날 행사는 전북어린이국악관현악단 공연으로 시작됐으며, 김관영 도지사의 기념사와 이명연 전북특별자치도의회 부의장의 축사, 어린이들과 함께한 기념 퍼포먼스 순으로 진행됐다.
특히 어린이 4명이 직접 아동권리헌장을 낭독하며 아동권리의 의미를 되새기는 시간도 마련됐다.
올해 대축제는 즐기GO, 꿈꾸GO, 체험하GO, 웃GO, 알아보GO, 공연보GO 등 6개 테마존으로 구성됐다. 협동 컵쌓기 놀이, 가상 스포츠 대회, 로봇 체험, 증강현실 체험, 인형극, 마술공연 등 총 67개 프로그램이 운영돼 어린이와 가족들의 호응을 얻었다.
전북자치도는 행사장 인파 집중에 대비해 사전 시설 안전점검, 안전요원 및 구급차 배치, 부스별 인원 제한, 우천 대비책 등 안전관리 체계도 가동했다.
김관영 전북자치도지사는 “어린이들이 행복하게 뛰놀고 꿈을 키워가는 전북을 함께 만들어 가자”며 “모든 아이들이 미래의 주역으로 성장할 수 있도록 도정이 적극 뒷받침하겠다”고 말했다.
