On May 5th, in celebration of Children's Day, Jeonju City held an event called the '104th Children's Day Commemoration Ceremony and Jeonju Play Week' at the Nosong Square in front of the City Hall, with the participation of around 3,000 citizens including children, parents, and residents from the Jeonju area.
The event started with a demonstration of high-quality Taekwondo and a K-pop dance performance, and during the ceremony, commendations were given to exemplary children and contributors to child welfare. A total of 24 individuals, including 16 exemplary children and 8 contributors to child welfare, were honored.
Following this, two child representatives recited the Children's Pledge, and a performance of releasing wish airplanes symbolizing children's dreams marked the beginning of the main event.
Various programs were operated at the event venue, including play areas, job experience booths, experiential and promotional booths, magic shows, bubble shows, balloon shows, cheerful sports competitions, and random play dances. The play area featured a natural playground with activities like air bouncers, zip lines, wooden stepping stones, and sand play.
Furthermore, related organizations such as the Jeonju City Human Rights and Legal Affairs Department, Good Neighbors, Jeonbuk Bank, Jeonju Family Center, Korean Red Cross Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province Branch, and Green Umbrella Jeonbuk Comprehensive Social Welfare Center participated in promoting child rights, financial education, child abuse prevention, mental health checks, and an exhibition of future generation policy proposals.
Mayor Woo Bum-gi stated, "Creating an environment where the children of Jeonju can freely unfold their happy dreams is a precious value that Jeonju City must uphold," and expressed his hope that Children's Day would be a time for children to create happy memories with their families.
전주시, 제104회 어린이날 기념행사 개최
노송광장서 시민 3000여 명 참여…놀이·체험 프로그램 풍성
전주시는 5일 어린이날을 맞아 시청 앞 노송광장에서 전주지역 아동과 부모 등 시민 3000여 명이 참여한 가운데 ‘제104회 어린이날 기념식 및 전주 놀이주간’ 행사를 개최했다.
이날 행사는 명품태권도 시범과 케이팝 댄스 공연으로 시작됐으며, 기념식에서는 모범 어린이와 아동복지 유공자에 대한 표창이 수여됐다. 모범 어린이 16명과 아동복지 유공자 8명 등 총 24명이 수상의 영예를 안았다.
이어 어린이 대표 2명이 어린이 헌장을 낭독하고, 아이들의 꿈을 담은 소망 비행기 날리기 퍼포먼스로 본행사의 시작을 알렸다.
행사장에서는 놀이마당, 직업 체험 부스, 체험·홍보부스, 마술쇼·버블쇼·풍선쇼, 명랑 운동회, 랜덤플레이 댄스 등 다양한 프로그램이 운영됐다. 놀이마당에는 에어바운스, 짚라인, 나무 징검다리, 모래놀이 등으로 구성된 자연놀이터가 마련됐다.
또 전주시 인권법무과와 굿네이버스, 전북은행, 전주시 가족센터, 대한적십자사 전북특별자치도지사, 초록우산 전북종합사회복지관 등 유관기관이 참여해 아동인권 홍보, 금융교육, 아동학대 예방, 정신건강 검사, 미래세대 정책 제안 사진전 등을 진행했다.
우범기 전주시장은 “전주의 미래인 어린이들이 행복한 꿈을 마음껏 펼칠 수 있는 환경을 만드는 일은 전주시가 지켜나가야 할 소중한 가치”라며 “어린이날을 맞아 아이들이 가족과 함께 행복한 추억을 쌓는 시간이 되었기를 바란다”고 말했다.
