On the 5th, Wanju County held a Children's Day festival with the theme 'Jump from Wanju to a New Future' at the Wanju County Hall Square to celebrate the 104th Children's Day.
The event, which opened with a drone magic show, combined play, future technology experiences, and children's rights activities to create a festival centered around children and youth.
The venue featured activities such as the 'Wanju-Desire Tree' where children's wishes were placed, a time travel play area, a camping zone, which received positive responses from families visiting in groups. Psychological counseling and children's rights activities were also conducted to remind participants of the importance of children's rights.
Children had the opportunity to experience future technologies such as AI-based horse riding devices, autonomous vehicles, AI robotic arms, 3D printing, and drone flights. A hydrogen energy bus linked to Wanju County's specialized industries was also operated to increase understanding of clean energy.
In particular, the 'Cheeky and Lively Talent Show' proposed by children was included in the children's participation budget, leading to outdoor stage performances by 11 teams of children and youth in dance and band competitions.
Jong-hoon Lee, the acting Wanju County Mayor, said, "This festival was a stage prepared for Wanju's children to jump higher," and added, "We will continue to do our best to create Wanju County where children are the protagonists."

AI 체험·아동권리 활동 결합한 아동·청소년 중심 축제
완주군은 5일 완주군청 어울림 광장에서 제104회 어린이날을 맞아 ‘완주에서 점프(JUMP)! 새로운 미래를 향하여’를 주제로 어린이날 대축제를 개최했다.
무인기 드론 마술쇼로 문을 연 이날 행사는 놀이와 미래기술 체험, 아동권리 활동이 결합된 아동·청소년 중심 축제로 진행됐다.
행사장에는 아이들의 소망을 담은 ‘완주-소망 나무’를 비롯해 시간여행 놀이 구역, 캠크닉 구역 등이 마련돼 가족 단위 방문객들의 호응을 얻었다. 또 심리상담과 아동권리 활동도 함께 운영돼 아동권리의 중요성을 되새기는 시간을 가졌다.
어린이들은 인공지능 기반 승마 기기, 자율주행 자동차, 인공지능 로봇 팔, 3D프린팅, 무인기 비행 시연 등을 체험하며 미래 기술을 접했다. 완주군 특화 산업과 연계한 수소 에너지 버스도 운영돼 청정에너지에 대한 이해를 높였다.
특히 아이들이 제안한 ‘끼 발랄 자랑 대회’가 아동 참여 예산에 반영돼 야외무대에서 아동·청소년 11팀의 댄스와 밴드 경연이 펼쳐졌다.
이종훈 완주군수 권한대행은 “이번 축제는 완주의 아이들이 더 높이 점프할 수 있도록 준비한 무대였다”며 “앞으로도 아동이 주인공인 완주군을 만들기 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
