EBS's program 'Knowledge Channel e' will present three special broadcasts on space, K contents, and the meaning of social life from May 11th to 13th.
The upcoming broadcasts will explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life inspired by imagination in movies, the traditional Korean hat 'gat' that has garnered global attention, and the life and final farewell of Go Seo-myung, the chairman who created the Jeju Olle Trail.
The first broadcast on May 11th will feature 'Project Halmary' Part 2, titled 'Can life forms that eat stars really exist?' It will question the existence of life forms that use starlight as an energy source, similar to the microorganism 'Astropage' in the movie, by examining the unique survival methods of Earth's organisms such as deep-sea bacteria and fungi that utilize radiation to explore the possibility of extraterrestrial life.
On May 12th, 'K Contents White Paper' Part 2, 'Oh My Gat (GAT),' will be broadcasted. It will delve into how the 'gat,' a symbol of Confucian scholars in the Joseon Dynasty, has become a cultural item that captures the attention of people worldwide through K contents and fashion. The broadcast will shed light on the production method, historical significance, class symbolism, and modern reinterpretation process of the 'gat.'
The broadcast on May 13th, 'Play, Rest, Walk - On the Olle Trail,' will focus on the life of Go Seo-myung, the chairman who created the Jeju Olle Trail. It will reflect on the process of how the late Go, who worked as a political reporter and female editor, decided to create the Olle Trail after walking the Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route in Spain, aiming to convey the healing power of life through walking.
Through this special programming, EBS aims to deliver intellectual exploration that offers viewers a fresh perspective on familiar common sense and preconceptions.
The broadcasts will air from May 11th to 13th, Monday to Wednesday nights at 25:20 on EBS1.

EBS ‘지식채널e’가 오는 5월 11일부터 13일까지 우주, K콘텐츠, 사회적 삶의 의미를 다룬 3편의 기획 방송을 선보인다.
이번 방송은 영화 속 상상에서 출발한 외계 생명체의 가능성, 세계적 관심을 받고 있는 조선의 전통 모자 ‘갓’, 제주 올레길을 만든 고 서명숙 이사장의 삶과 마지막 인사를 주제로 구성됐다.
첫 방송인 5월 11일에는 ‘프로젝트 헤일메리’ 2부 ‘별을 먹는 생명체는 정말 존재할 수 있을까?’가 방송된다. 영화 속 미생물 ‘아스트로파지’처럼 별빛을 에너지원으로 삼는 생명체가 실제로 존재할 수 있는지를 질문하며, 심해 박테리아, 방사선을 활용하는 곰팡이 등 지구 생명체의 독특한 생존 방식을 통해 우주 생명의 가능성을 살펴본다.
5월 12일에는 ‘K 콘텐츠 백서’ 2부 ‘오 마이 갓(GAT)’이 방송된다. 조선시대 선비의 상징이었던 ‘갓’이 어떻게 K콘텐츠와 패션을 통해 세계인이 주목하는 문화 아이템이 됐는지를 다룬다. 방송은 갓의 제작 방식과 역사적 의미, 계급적 상징성, 현대적 재해석 과정을 함께 조명한다.
5월 13일 방송되는 ‘놀멍 쉬멍 걸으멍 – 올레길에서’는 제주 올레길을 만든 고 서명숙 이사장의 삶을 다룬다. 정치부 기자이자 여성 편집장으로 활동했던 고인이 산티아고 순례길을 계기로 제주에 올레길을 만들게 된 과정과, 걷기를 통해 삶의 치유를 전하고자 했던 뜻을 되새긴다.
EBS는 이번 기획을 통해 익숙한 상식과 통념을 새롭게 바라보는 지적 탐험을 시청자들에게 전달할 예정이다.
방송은 5월 11일부터 13일까지 월요일부터 수요일 밤 25시 20분, EBS1에서 방영된다.
