Wonkwang University has conducted a Korean legal education program to help foreign exchange students adapt to stable life in Korea and adjust to their studies.
The International Exchange Office of Wonkwang University announced that on the 7th of last month, they held a "Korean Legal Education for Improving Living Conditions for Foreign Exchange Students" in the Prime Hall, Multimedia Hall, and WM Hall on campus.
Approximately 600 foreign exchange students participated in this education program, which focused on key laws and regulations that they must know for their life in Korea.
The education covered topics closely related to the actual lives of exchange students, such as precautions when signing a housing contract, basic legal regulations related to staying and living in Korea, and etiquette for communal living.
Lee Hye-jin, Deputy Director of the International Exchange Office at Wonkwang University, stated, "We are continuously operating practical support programs to help foreign exchange students adapt stably to Korean society and university life," and added, "We will expand support to protect the rights of exchange students and create a safe living environment for them."
The International Exchange Office at Wonkwang University operates various international exchange support programs for foreign exchange students, including Korean language education, life counseling, and cultural experience programs.
원광대, 외국인 유학생 대상 한국법령 이해교육 실시
유학생 600여 명 참여…주거·체류·생활 규정 안내
원광대학교가 외국인 유학생들의 안정적인 한국 생활과 학업 적응을 돕기 위해 한국법령 이해교육을 실시했다.
원광대 국제교류처는 지난 7일 교내 프라임관, 멀티미디어관, WM관 일대에서 ‘외국인 유학생 정주여건 개선을 위한 한국법령 이해교육’을 진행했다고 밝혔다.
이번 교육에는 외국인 유학생 약 600명이 참여했으며, 한국 생활에서 반드시 알아야 할 주요 법령과 생활 규정을 중심으로 진행됐다.
교육 내용은 주거 계약 시 유의사항, 체류 및 생활 관련 기본 법규, 공동생활 예절 등 유학생들의 실제 생활과 밀접한 주제로 구성됐다.
이혜진 원광대 국제교류처 부처장은 “외국인 유학생들이 한국 사회와 대학 생활에 안정적으로 적응할 수 있도록 실질적인 지원 프로그램을 지속 운영하고 있다”며 “유학생들의 권익 보호와 안전한 정주 환경 조성을 위한 지원을 확대하겠다”고 밝혔다.
원광대 국제교류처는 외국인 유학생을 대상으로 한국어 교육, 생활 상담, 문화체험 프로그램 등 다양한 국제교류 지원 프로그램을 운영하고 있다.
