Kim Yong-il, the chairman of the Jeonju City School Operation Committee, was elected as the 24th chairman of the Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province School Operation Committee Chairmen's Association.
The Jeonbuk Education Office announced that Kim Yong-il, the chairman of the Jeonju City School Operation Committee, was elected as the 24th chairman during the '2026 Jeonbuk School Operation Committee Regular General Meeting' held in the meeting room of the Jeonbuk School Operation Committee on the 28th.
The Jeonbuk School Operation Committee Chairmen's Association is composed of 14 chairmen selected from the school operation committees of 14 cities and counties in the province, and it plays a role as a communication channel to reflect the opinions of schools on educational policies.
The newly appointed chairman, Kim Yong-il, stated, "The School Operation Committee will faithfully fulfill its bridging role so that diverse and creative education tailored to the realities and characteristics of schools can be realized, and all children can enjoy equal educational opportunities."
He further stated, "I will do my best to enhance communication and cooperation with the Education Office so that the voices of parents and the local community can lead to substantial educational policies."
Acting Superintendent Yoo Jung-ki said, "The School Operation Committee is an important partner in school education and a key player in shaping the future of education in Jeonbuk," adding, "We will continue to strengthen communication with the School Operation Committee and work towards implementing customized education policies tailored to the characteristics of the region."

전북특별자치도 학교운영위원장협의회 제24대 회장에 김용일 전주시학교운영위원장협의회장이 선출됐다.
전북특별자치도교육청은 28일 전북학교운영위원장협의회 회의실에서 ‘2026년 전북학교운영위원장협의회 정기총회’를 열고 김용일 전주시학교운영위원장협의회장을 제24대 회장으로 선출했다고 밝혔다.
전북학교운영위원장협의회는 도내 14개 시·군별 학교운영위원장협의회에서 선출된 회장 14명으로 구성돼 있으며, 학교 현장의 의견을 교육정책에 반영하기 위한 소통 창구 역할을 맡고 있다.
김용일 신임 회장은 “학교의 실정과 특색에 맞는 다양하고 창의적인 교육 실현은 물론, 모든 아이들이 공정한 교육 기회를 누릴 수 있도록 학교운영위원회가 가교 역할을 충실히 해나가겠다”고 밝혔다.
이어 “교육청과 긴밀히 소통하고 협력해 학부모와 지역의 목소리가 실질적인 교육정책으로 이어질 수 있도록 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
유정기 교육감 권한대행은 “학교운영위원회는 학교 교육의 중요한 동반자이며, 전북교육의 미래를 함께 만들어가는 주체”라며 “앞으로도 학교운영위원회와의 소통을 강화하고, 지역 특성에 맞는 맞춤형 교육정책을 실현해 나가겠다”고 말했다.
