The 6th performance of the first half of 2026 of the Thursday regular series at the Jeonbuk Provincial Government's National Gugak Center (hereinafter referred to as the Gugak Center), titled "Traditional Fragrance, New Melody II," will take place at 7:30 p.m. on the 11th at the Myeongin Hall of the Korean Sound Culture Center.
This performance is designed to open up the depth of tradition and the new artistic value of Korean traditional music through a stage that combines tradition and modernity.
Starting with Shin Minyo, the performance will include Gayageum Trio, Inchechang, Jungbu Salpuri, Gugak Chamber Music, and Samulnori, presenting a rich emotional experience to the audience.
Shin Minyo's "Spring Song, You Also Go, East Sea" is a song filled with the lively atmosphere of spring and the unique excitement of our melodies. Through the energetic stage of the female members of the Changgeukdan, this performance opens the door to the show.
The Gayageum Trio "Dream Road Song, Obongsan Song" is a piece that reinterprets Gyeonggi Minyo with a modern twist on the 25-string Gayageum. The lively and clear tones add a bright feeling to the performance.
"Jungsallpuri Dance" is a restructured dance of the central region's dance movements, a branch of Korean traditional dance from Gyeonggi and Chungcheong provinces. With long handkerchiefs, diverse dance movements, and restrained gestures, it conveys the emotions of joy and sorrow.
The Pansori Inchechang "Heungbo's Debt Repayment: The Journey of the Magpie" depicts the journey of a magpie visiting Heungbo's house to repay a debt. The performers sing in a conversational manner, enhancing the audience's immersion by developing the Pansori scene in a three-dimensional way.
The Gugak Chamber Music "Muwha" (Composition by Lee Jeong-ho) adds a modern touch to the slow and fast Heutn Taryeong of the Daepungryu. The free flow of Heutn melodies brings a sense of structured tension to the performers, creating a new resonance even within familiar melodies.
"Samulnori Shelf" refers to a refined reinterpretation of the percussion play performed in the yard into a stage art form. With colorful percussion performances and dynamic skills, it provides a variety of spectacles, decorating the climax of the performance with a vibrant stage.
도립국악원, 목요상설 ‘전통의 향기, 새로운 선율Ⅱ’ 공연
전북특별자치도립국악원(이하 국악원)의 2026년 상반기 목요상설 가무악 6회차 <전통의 향기, 새로운 선율Ⅱ>이 11일 저녁 7시 30분 한국소리문화의전당 명인홀에서 펼쳐진다.
이번 공연은 전통과 현대가 어우러진 무대를 통해 전통의 깊이와 국악의 새로운 예술적 가치를 열어가고자 마련됐다.
신민요를 시작으로 가야금 3중주를 비롯해 입체창, 중부살풀이, 국악 실내악, 사물놀이 총 6개 작품을 통해 관객들에게 풍성한 감동을 전할 예정이다.
신민요‘봄노래, 너도가고, 동해바다’는 봄의 생동감 넘치는 정취와 우리 가락 특유의 흥겨움을 담은 곡으로, 창극단 여성 단원들의 활기찬 무대를 통해 이번 공연의 문을 연다.
가야금 3중주 ‘꿈길타령, 오봉산타령’은 경기민요를 주제로 25현 가야금을 현대적으로 재구성한 곡이다. 경쾌하고 맑은 음색이 화사한 느낌을 더해준다.
‘중살풀이춤’은 한국 전통춤의 한 갈래로, 경기도·충청 등 중부권의 춤사위를 재구성된 춤이다. 수건의 길이가 길고 춤사위가 다양하며 절제된 동작 속에 한과 해원의 정서를 담고 있다.
판소리 입체창‘흥보가 中 제비노정기’는 흥보에게 은혜를 갚기 위해 박씨를 물고 흥보 집으로 찾아오는 제비의 여정을 그린 대목이다. 창자들이 대화하듯 소리를 나누어 부르는 형식으로, 판소리 대목을 입체적으로 전개하여 관객에 몰입도를 높인다.
대풍류에 의한 실내악 ‘무화’(작곡/이정호)는 대풍류 중 느린허튼타령과 자진허튼타령을 바탕으로 현대적 색채를 더한다. 허튼가락 특유의 자유로운 흐름이 연주자들에게 정돈된 긴장감으로 살아나며, 익숙한 선율 속에서도 새로운 울림을 만들어낸다.
‘사물놀이 선반’은 마당에서 벌였던 풍물놀이를 무대 예술로 세련되게 재구성한 판놀음을 말한다. 화려한 사물 장단 연주와 더불어 역동적인 재주로 다채로운 볼거리를 선사하며, 신명 나는 무대로 공연의 대미를 장식한다.
