Jeonju Honam Bookstore will be operating a residency writer literature program that local residents can participate in for free from this month until November.
This program was selected through the open call for the Korea Culture and Arts Council's '2026 Residency Writer Support Project,' and poet Kim Seong-cheol will plan and operate the program 'Literature, Resonating with Me' for 7 months.
The residency writer support project 'Literature, Resonating with Me' consists of various programs such as poetry creation, late-night poetry book exploration, invited writer lectures, creating a space for literary communication with the local residents. Key events include the bi-weekly 'Poetry Twisting Creation Studio' on Saturdays, bi-weekly 'Tuesday Late-night Poetry Book Exploration,' and monthly last Friday conversations with the residency writer, including book review meetings on recommended books.
Poet Kim Seong-cheol, selected as the residency writer, made his debut through the Yeongnam Ilbo Shinchun Literature Contest in 2006. His representative poetry collections include "The Scent of Moonlight Dancing," and "The Fragrance of the Moon from the Field of Grass." He was also selected as the Honam Bookstore residency writer for 2025 and 2026.
Choi Hong-seok, the representative of Honam Bookstore, stated, "The residency writer program was created to allow writers and local residents to meet directly, write, read books, and enjoy literature in their daily lives," and expressed his hope that "Honam Bookstore will establish itself as a hub of local literature where anyone can immerse themselves in literature through books."
Citizens who wish to participate in the Honam Bookstore literature program can apply through Honam Bookstore's KakaoTalk or Instagram, or at the bookstore.
“문학, 내게 스미다” 전주 호남문고, 상주작가 문학프로그램 운영
전주 호남문고가 이달부터 오는 11월까지 도민이 무료로 참여할 수 있는 상주작가 문학프로그램을 운영한다.
이번 프로그램은 한국문화예술위원회 ‘2026년 문학상주작가 지원사업’ 공모 선정에 따른 것으로 김성철 시인과 7개월간 ‘문학, 내게 스미다’ 프로그램을 기획 운영한다.
이번 상주작가 지원사업 ‘문학, 내게 스미다’는 시 창작과 심야 시집 탐방, 초청작가 강연 등 다양한 프로그램으로 구성되어 지역민과 문학적 소통의 장을 마련한다.
주요 일정으로는 격주 토요일 개최되는 ‘시 비틀기 창작소’, 격주 화요일에 열리는 ‘화요 심야 시집 탐방’ 그리고 매달 마지막 금요일 진행되는 상주작가와의 대화 등이며 추천 도서 독후감 품평회도 포함되어 있다.
상주 작가로 선정된 김성철 시인은 2006년 영남일보 신춘문예를 통해 등단했으며 대표 시집으로는 “달이 기우는 비향”, “풀밭이라는 말에서 달 내음이 난다” 등이 있으며 2025년과 2026년 호남문고 상주작가로 선정되었다.
최홍석 호남문고 대표는 “상주작가 프로그램은 작가와 도민이 직접 만나 글을 쓰고 책을 읽으며 문학을 일상에서 누릴 수 있도록 마련했다”며 “호남문고가 누구나 책을 통해 머무는 지역 문학의 거점으로 자리를 잡기 바란다”고 전했다.
호남문고 문학프로그램에 참여할 시민은 호남문고 카카오톡이나 인스타그램 또는 서점에서 신청할 수 있다.
