The '2026 KoCACA Art Festival in Busan,' which was attended by over 3,000 people from nationwide cultural centers and art organizations, opened successfully at the Busan Cinema Center on the 8th.
Hosted by the Korea Culture and Arts Centers Association (KoCACA) with joint organization by KoCACA and the Busan Cinema Center (Representative Director In-beom Ko), this event, held under the slogan 'Together in ARTS,' will run until the 11th, showcasing various programs for performing arts distribution and collaboration.
The opening ceremony held at the Rooftop Theater of the Busan Cinema Center featured the presence of key figures in the cultural and arts industry, including Hyang-mi Jung, Director of the Cultural Arts Policy Office at the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism, Beom-heon Lee, Chairman of the Korea Culture and Arts Council, and Yoo-jang Cho, Director of the Culture Department of Busan Metropolitan City, along with officials from nationwide cultural centers and art organizations, marking the start of the festival.
The opening ceremony began with a red carpet entrance performance by festival participants. Representatives from 7 regional cultural centers, art organizations, and related cultural institutions walked the red carpet, symbolizing harmony and exchange in the performing arts scene. Following this, performances by the Haeundae District Youth Choir, Gimhae City Youth Choir, and Ulsan Jung-gu Youth Choir took place.
As part of the opening celebration, the National Asian Cultural Center (ACC) presented the performance 'Shirring Shirring: Jevinu Jeonggi,' a modern reinterpretation of the traditional pansori 'Heungboga,' which received a great response by blending traditional and contemporary elements on stage.
On the first day of the festival, an art market featuring over 470 participating organizations was held. At the KoCACA booth, art organizations, performance equipment companies, and related cultural institutions introduced performance contents and institutional projects, conducted on-site consultations, and networking. The showcase presented performance contents of outstanding cultural center performances discovered through the '2025 Cultural Center Specialization Support Project,' attracting participants' interest.
At the KoCACA Forum, discussions were held on the theme 'Transition of Performance Venues in the Era of Climate Crisis: Path to Green Theaters,' focusing on the sustainability of performing arts and eco-friendly operation methods for theaters. Various cases and opinions were shared, including Theater Green Book, low-carbon operation of theaters, changes in creative processes and audience experiences, cooperation between public institutions and the arts industry, and step-by-step implementation plans considering the reality of regional cultural centers.
On the second day, the 9th, there will be a continuation of the KoCACA booth introducing works of various genres such as theater, musicals, dance, and music, along with art organization showcases and repertoire pitching. Additionally, the newly arranged evening program 'Healing Humanities Concert' will be held for the first time this year. On the 10th, an excellent case presentation competition for cultural centers will take place, and the selected award-winning institutions will be honored at the closing ceremony on the 11th.
KoCACA Chairman So Hong-sam stated, "Like the Ubuntu spirit that says, 'I exist because we exist,' cultural centers and art organizations are a fate community that grows through each other," expressing hopes that the KoCACA Art Festival will become a platform for collaboration connecting good works and new opportunities.
‘2026 KoCACA아트페스티벌 in 부산’ 성황리 개막

전국 문예회관과 예술단체 등 3,000여 명이 참여한 ‘2026 KoCACA아트페스티벌 in 부산’이 지난 8일 부산 영화의전당에서 성황리에 개막했다.
한국문화예술회관연합회(회장 소홍삼, 이하 코카카)가 주최하고 코카카와 (재)영화의전당(대표이사 고인범)이 공동 주관하는 이번 행사는 ‘Together in ARTS’를 슬로건으로 오는 11일까지 진행되며, 공연예술 유통과 협력을 위한 다양한 프로그램을 선보인다.
영화의전당 루프씨어터(야외극장)에서 열린 개막식에는 정향미 문화체육관광부 문화예술정책실장, 이범헌 한국문화예술위원회 위원장, 조유장 부산광역시 문화국장을 비롯한 문화예술계 주요 인사와 전국 문예회관·예술단체 관계자들이 참석해 축제의 시작을 함께했다.
개막식은 페스티벌 참가자들이 함께하는 레드카펫 입장 퍼포먼스로 막을 올렸다. 전국 7개 지회 문예회관과 예술단체, 문화예술 유관기관 관계자들이 레드카펫을 따라 입장하며 공연예술 현장의 화합과 교류를 상징하는 장면을 연출했다. 이어 해운대구립소년소녀합창단, 김해시립소년소녀합창단, 울산중구소년소녀합창단의 공연이 펼쳐졌다.
개막축하공연으로는 국립아시아문화전당(ACC) 제작 공연 ‘시리렁 시리렁: 제비노정기’가 무대에 올랐다. 판소리 ‘흥보가’를 현대적으로 재해석한 작품으로, 전통과 현대가 어우러진 무대를 선보이며 큰 호응을 얻었다.
개막 첫날에는 470여 개 기관이 참여하는 공연예술 아트마켓이 열렸다. KoCACA부스에서는 예술단체와 공연장비업체, 문화예술 유관기관 등이 공연 콘텐츠와 기관 사업을 소개하고 현장 상담과 네트워킹을 진행했다. 쇼케이스에서는 ‘2025년 문예회관 특성화 지원 사업’을 통해 발굴된 문예회관 우수공연 콘텐츠가 소개돼 참가자들의 관심을 모았다.
KoCACA포럼에서는 ‘기후위기 시대, 공연장의 전환: 그린 씨어터로 가는 길’을 주제로 공연예술의 지속가능성과 친환경 공연장 운영 방안을 논의했다. 씨어터 그린북과 공연장의 저탄소 운영, 창작 과정과 관객 경험의 변화, 공공기관과 예술계의 협력, 지역 문예회관의 현실을 고려한 단계적 실행 방안 등 다양한 사례와 의견이 공유됐다.
둘째 날인 9일에는 연극, 뮤지컬, 무용, 음악 등 다양한 장르의 작품을 소개하는 KoCACA부스와 예술단체 쇼케이스, 레퍼토리 피칭이 이어진다. 또한 올해 처음 마련된 야간기획 프로그램 ‘힐링 인문학 콘서트’도 열린다. 10일에는 문예회관 우수사례 발표대회가 진행되며, 심사를 통해 선정된 수상기관은 11일 폐막식에서 시상될 예정이다.
소홍삼 코카카 회장은 “‘내가 존재하는 것은 우리가 존재하기 때문’이라는 우분투(Ubuntu) 정신처럼 문예회관과 예술단체는 서로를 통해 성장하는 운명공동체”라며 “KoCACA아트페스티벌이 좋은 작품과 새로운 기회를 연결하는 협력의 플랫폼이 되기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
