In the midst of the rapid digital transformation era where generative AI and digital textbooks are quickly changing the landscape of classrooms, senior teachers who have led educational innovation in the field of education in South Korea are gathering in one place to question the 'essence of teaching' once again.
The National Association of Senior Teachers in Elementary and Secondary Schools announced that they will be hosting the "16th Senior Teachers' Day Future Education Conference" at Korea National University of Education in Cheongju, Chungbuk on Saturday, June 27, 2026.
This year's 16th conference will be held under the theme of "Questioning the Essence of Teaching in the AI Era." As artificial intelligence rapidly delivers knowledge and digital technology transforms the educational environment, the event is designed to reflect on the human connections, the power of questioning, and the meaning of the learning process that takes place in the classroom.
Beyond the discourse centered on technology in education, this event is expected to be a platform to affirm that the true protagonists of teaching are teachers and students, and that the core of education lies in the interactions and learning processes that take place in the classroom.
The core program of this conference will be the "Classroom Sharing Sessions" held in the afternoon. The sharing sessions will be divided into sessions for elementary school teachers and secondary school teachers based on the participants' interests and expertise. The elementary school session will be held at the Education Hall, while the secondary school session will be held at the Education Research Hall.
During the classroom sharing sessions, senior teachers from across the country will not only introduce AI and EdTech as mere technologies but also share practical examples of how to meaningfully utilize them in teaching. 생성형 AI와 디지털 교과서가 교실의 풍경을 빠르게 바꾸고 있는 디지털 대전환기 속에서, 대한민국 교육 현장의 수업 혁신을 이끌어온 수석교사들이 ‘수업의 본질’을 다시 묻기 위해 한자리에 모인다.
전국유초중등 수석교사회는 오는 2026년 6월 27일 토요일, 충북 청주시 한국교원대학교에서 ‘제16회 수석교사의 날 미래교육 콘퍼런스’를 개최한다고 밝혔다.
올해로 16회를 맞는 이번 콘퍼런스는 “AI 시대, 수업의 본질을 다시 묻다”를 주제로 열린다. 인공지능이 지식을 빠르게 전달하고, 디지털 기술이 교육 환경을 변화시키는 시대일수록 교실 안에서 이루어지는 인간적 유대, 질문의 힘, 배움의 과정이 갖는 의미를 성찰하기 위해 마련됐다.
이번 행사는 기술 중심의 교육 담론을 넘어, 수업의 진정한 주인공은 교사와 학생이며 교육의 핵심은 교실 안에서 이루어지는 상호작용과 배움의 과정에 있다는 점을 확인하는 자리가 될 전망이다.
