Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province announced on the 25th that 8 major beaches in the province will be sequentially opened from July 3rd to August 18th for a total of 47 days.
In the Buan area, the Bansan, Gosapo, Gyeokpo, Mohang, and Wido beaches will open on July 3rd, while Sunyudo in Gunsan and Gusipo and Dongho beaches in Gochang will open on July 10th. The operating hours will be from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Gunsan, 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. in Gochang, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Buan, with the Bansan beach extending its operation until 8 p.m.
The province is focusing on preventing water-related accidents by prioritizing the safety of vacationers through thorough pre-inspections, staffing, and establishing emergency response systems.
To achieve this, they have increased water safety equipment, deployed 142 safety personnel, completed joint inspections of beach safety facilities with local maritime and fisheries offices, and city and county authorities. During the opening period, comprehensive situation rooms will be operated by city and county, and a rapid response system has been established among the province, city and county authorities, maritime police, and fire departments to respond promptly to emergencies.
In addition, environmental safety management such as water quality and soil tests before and after opening, surveillance for jellyfish and heatwaves during the operating period will also be conducted simultaneously.
The province is also focusing on enhancing the convenience of vacationers. They will provide swimming items such as life jackets for free, and at Bansan beach, they will operate a children's water play area for free, expecting a great response from family visitors.
Moreover, from July to August, they plan to operate various summer tourism contents such as marine healing programs like Sunyudo Healing Beach Experience in Gunsan, Guso Beach Concert in Gochang, and Sunset Beach Pub in Bansan to provide diverse entertainment for vacationers.
Furthermore, to eliminate unfair practices that inconvenience vacationers such as charging for parasols and tent pitching, they plan to operate a reporting center and conduct guidance activities.
Kim Mi-jeong, Director of the Saemangeum Marine and Fisheries Department in Jeollabuk Province, said, "This summer, we will do our best in safety management so that vacationers visiting Jeollabuk's beaches can enjoy water activities with peace of mind," and added, "I hope you have a safe and enjoyable summer vacation by following safety rules such as wearing life jackets."
도내 주요 해수욕장 8곳, 오는 3일부터 순차적 개장
전북특별자치도는 도내 주요 해수욕장 8곳이 오는 7월 3일부터 순차적으로 개장해 8월 18일까지 총 47일간 운영된다고 25일 밝혔다.
부안지역 변산·고사포·격포·모항·위도 해수욕장은 7월 3일, 군산 선유도와 고창 구시포·동호 해수욕장은 7월 10일 문을 연다. 운영시간은 군산은 오전 10시부터 오후 6시, 고창은 오전 10시부터 오후 7시, 부안은 오전 9시부터 오후 6시까지이며, 변산해수욕장은 오후 8시까지 연장 운영된다.
도는 피서객 안전을 최우선으로 두고 철저한 사전 점검과 인력 배치, 긴급 대응체계 구축 등 물놀이 사고 예방에 총력을 기울이고 있다.
이를 위해 수상안전장비를 확충하고 안전관리요원 142명을 배치했으며, 군산지방해양수산청과 시·군 등 관계기관과 함께 해수욕장 안전시설에 대한 합동점검도 완료했다. 개장 기간에는 시·군별 종합상황실을 운영하고, 도와 시·군, 해양경찰서, 소방서 간 신속 대응체계를 구축해 긴급 상황 발생 시 즉각 대응할 수 있는 체계를 갖췄다.
또한 개장 전후와 운영 기간 중 수질검사와 토양검사, 해파리·폭염 대비 예찰 등 환경안전 관리도 병행한다.
도는 안전관리와 함께 피서객 편의 증진에도 힘을 쏟고 있다. 구명조끼 등 피서용품을 무상으로 제공하고, 변산해수욕장에서는 어린이 물놀이장을 무료 운영해 가족 단위 방문객들에게 큰 호응을 얻을 것으로 기대된다.
아울러 7월부터 8월까지 군산 선유도 힐링비치체험 등 해양치유 프로그램과 고창 구시포 해변콘서트, 변산 선셋 비치펍 등 다양한 여름 관광 콘텐츠를 운영해 피서객들에게 다채로운 즐길거리를 선보일 계획이다.
또한 바가지요금과 알박기 텐트 등 피서객 불편을 초래하는 부당 행위를 근절하기 위해 신고센터 운영과 계도 활동도 병행할 방침이다.
김미정 전북자치도 새만금해양수산국장은 “올여름 전북의 해수욕장을 찾는 피서객들이 안심하고 물놀이를 즐길 수 있도록 안전관리에 최선을 다하겠다”며 “구명조끼 착용 등 안전수칙을 준수해 안전하고 즐거운 여름휴가를 보내시길 바란다”고 말했다.
