The Jeonbuk Provincial Office of Education held a training session on "Enhancing the Capacity for Selection and Placement of Special Education Students" at the Jeonju Pyeonghwa Hall on the 2nd.
The training session targeted around 600 participants, including administrators, teachers, and education professionals from elementary, middle, and high schools, as well as special schools in the province. It was designed to share guidelines for selecting and placing special education students and to enhance understanding and expertise in related tasks.
Students in need of special education support are determined through deliberation by the Special Education Operation Committee for their selection and school placement. Therefore, meticulous understanding and support for students are crucial throughout the entire process from application to deliberation.
The training session focused on going beyond mere administrative procedures to deeply examine the lives and educational needs of each student and explore ways to support their healthy growth.
Choi Jae-il, head of the Elementary Special Education Department, stated, "We hope that this training will enhance the expertise of school and education support office personnel and ensure that all special education students have the opportunity to receive fair education in the optimal educational environment."
전북교육청, 특수교육대상자 선정·배치 역량 강화 연수 개최
전북교육청은 2일 전주평화의전당 유항검홀에서 ‘특수교육대상자 선정·배치 역량 강화 연수’를 개최했다.
이번 연수는 도내 유·초·중·고 및 특수학교 관리자, 교사, 교육전문직원 등 600여 명을 대상으로 진행됐다. 특수교육대상학생 선정·배치 업무 길라잡이 내용을 공유하고, 관련 업무에 대한 이해와 전문성을 높기 위해 마련됐다.
특수교육 지원이 필요한 학생은 특수교육운영위원회 심의를 거쳐 신규 선정과 학교 배치 등이 결정된다. 이에 따라 신청부터 심의까지 모든 과정에서 학생에 대한 세심한 이해와 지원이 중요하다.
이날 연수는 단순한 행정 절차를 넘어 학생 한 명 한 명의 삶과 교육적 필요를 깊이 살피고, 건강한 성장을 지원할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는 데 중점을 뒀다.
최재일 유초등특수교육과장은 “이번 연수가 학교와 교육지원청 담당자들의 업무 전문성을 높이고, 모든 특수교육대상학생이 최적의 교육 환경에서 공정하게 교육받을 기회를 보장하는 계기가 되길 기대한다”고 말했다.
