Jeonju Cultural Foundation (CEO Choi Rak-gi) will present a variety of performances such as theater, traditional arts, and opera as part of the '2026 Performing Arts Regional Distribution Support Project' at Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center from July 18 to August 1, every Saturday at 3 p.m.
This series of performances aims to bridge the cultural gap by distributing performing arts content from the capital region to local areas and to promote the activation of local performance venues. Jeonju Hanbyeok Cultural Center has prepared three works of various genres by adding its own budget on top of government support.
The first performance is the play 'Dressing Room,' which will take the stage at 3 p.m. on July 18. This work deeply portrays the passion and lives of actors behind the scenes, and is expected to touch the audience with solid acting and high-quality direction. In particular, the participation of actors Song Ok-sook, Lee Il-hwa, Seo Young-hee, and Park Jung-won is expected to enhance the completeness of the work.
Next, on July 25 at 3 p.m., the crossover Korean traditional music performance 'Go Young-yeol Piano Byeongchang: Chunhyang 'Flower and Tears'' will be presented. Go Young-yeol has been recognized for his outstanding skills and popularity through various TV programs such as 'Immortal Songs' and 'Phantom Singer.' He will showcase the unique charm of Korean traditional music by combining traditional pansori and piano performances.
The final performance will be the opera 'Cinderella's Sand Story,' which will be staged at 3 p.m. on August 1. This children's musical performance, combining sand art and a 14-member orchestra, will stimulate children's imagination with fantastic visual effects and beautiful music.
전주한벽문화관, 3주간 다채로운 무대 선보여
전주문화재단(대표이사 최락기) 전주한벽문화관이 오는 18일부터 8월 1일까지 매주 토요일 오후 3시, ‘2026 공연예술 지역유통 지원사업’의 일환으로 연극, 전통, 오페라 등 다양한 장르의 공연을 선보인다.
이번 공연은 수도권의 공연 콘텐츠를 지역에 보급하여 문화 격차를 해소하고, 지역 공연장 활성화 도모를 위해 마련됐다. 전주한벽문화관은 국비 지원을 바탕으로 자체 예산을 더해 다양한 장르의 3개 작품을 준비했다.
첫 번째 공연은 7월 18일 오후 3시 무대에 오르는 연극 ‘분장실’이다. 무대 뒤 배우들의 열정과 삶을 깊이 있게 그려낸 작품으로, 탄탄한 연기와 완성도 높은 연출을 통해 관객들에게 깊은 감동을 선사할 예정이다. 특히 배우 송옥숙, 이일화, 서영희, 박정원이 출연해 작품의 완성도를 한층 높일 것으로 기대를 모은다.
이어 7월 25일 오후 3시에는 크로스오버 국악 공연 ‘고영열 피아노 병창: 춘향 ’불과 눈물’이 펼쳐진다. 고영열은 ‘불후의 명곡’ 우승을 비롯해 ‘팬텀싱어’, ‘풍류대장’ 등 다양한 방송 프로그램에서 활약하며 뛰어난 실력과 대중성을 인정받아 왔다.전통 판소리와 피아노 연주를 결합한 독창적인 무대로 국악의 새로운 매력을 선보일 예정이다.
마지막 공연은 8월 1일 오후 3시에 공연되는 오페라‘신데렐라의 모래이야기’다. 샌드아트와 14인조 오케스트라 협연을 결합한 어린이 뮤지컬 공연은 환상적인 시각 효과와 아름다운 음악으로 아이들의 상상력을 자극할 예정이다.
