On the 9th, Yangji Senior Welfare Center in Jeonju City conducted safety education for winter cold and health management for 240 participants of the elderly job and social activity support program at the Yangji Hall on the 3rd floor of the welfare center.
This education was prepared to prepare for health risks such as summer heatwaves and food poisoning, and to prevent safety accidents of elderly job participants.
The education covered topics such as preventing and responding to fall accidents, safety rules in the kitchen and work environment, commuting safety, heatwave prevention, food poisoning prevention and management, which can be practiced in activity sites and daily life.
In particular, the focus was on providing easy-to-understand information on winter cold safety accident cases, health management methods, heatwave and food poisoning response strategies to enhance participants' safety awareness and health management capabilities.
Choi Sang-ok, the head of Yangji Senior Welfare Center, emphasized the importance of safety in the elderly job program, stating, "Safety is paramount as the elderly job program is an important initiative to support the social participation and healthy aging of the elderly." She added, "Through continuous safety education and on-site management, we will create an environment where the elderly can engage in activities with peace of mind."
Mayor Jo Gi-hoon said, "Safety is the top priority, especially in hot weather," and urged, "I hope you always take care of your health and engage in activities safely."
양지노인복지관, 노인일자리 참여자 혹서기 안전교육 실시
전주시 양지노인복지관은 9일 복지관 3층 양지홀에서 노인일자리 및 사회활동 지원사업 참여자 240명을 대상으로 혹서기 안전교육과 건강관리 교육을 실시했다.
이번 교육은 여름철 폭염과 식중독 등 건강 위험에 대비하고, 노인일자리 참여자들의 안전사고를 예방하기 위해 마련됐다.
교육은 낙상사고 예방과 대처, 주방·작업환경 안전수칙, 출퇴근 교통안전, 폭염 예방, 식중독 예방 관리 등 활동 현장과 일상생활에서 실천할 수 있는 내용으로 진행됐다.
특히 혹서기 안전사고 사례와 건강관리 방법, 폭염·식중독 대응 요령 등을 알기 쉽게 안내해 참여자들의 안전의식과 건강관리 역량을 높이는 데 중점을 뒀다.
최상옥 양지노인복지관장은 “노인일자리 사업은 어르신들의 사회참여와 건강한 노후를 지원하는 중요한 사업인 만큼 안전이 무엇보다 중요하다”며 “지속적인 안전교육과 현장관리를 통해 어르신들이 안심하고 활동할 수 있는 환경을 만들겠다”고 말했다.
조지훈 전주시장은 “무더운 날씨에는 무엇보다 안전이 최우선”이라며 “항상 건강을 챙기며 안전하게 활동하시길 바란다”고 격려했다.
