The Gunsan Agricultural Technology Center conducted a two-day farm machinery field use and safety education program from the 7th to the 8th to prevent summer agricultural work accidents and enhance safety awareness among farmers.
The training was held at the Agricultural Lifelong Learning Center for farmers using farm machinery rental services, as well as women and elderly farmers. The education was conducted with a focus on practical training to prevent safety accidents that may occur during summer agricultural work and to familiarize participants with the correct use of farm machinery.
The main contents included prevention of heat-related illnesses and emergency response procedures, preventive education through case studies of farm machinery safety accidents, farm machinery use and agricultural work safety management, and practical training on the safe loading and unloading of small and medium-sized farm machinery.
The center emphasized the importance of wearing protective gear, following safety rules, and checking for potential hazards before starting work, as prolonged work in extreme heat conditions can lead to fatigue accumulation and decreased concentration, potentially resulting in farm machinery accidents.
Kim Seon-joo, head of the rural support department, stated, "The risk of accidents increases during the summer when extreme heat and farm machinery use coincide," and added, "We will continue to provide practical safety education tailored to the seasonal agricultural work environment."
군산시, 여름철 농기계 안전교육 실시
군산시농업기술센터는 여름철 농작업 안전사고 예방과 농업인의 안전의식 향상을 위해 지난 7일부터 8일까지 이틀간 농기계 현장이용 및 안전교육을 실시했다.
이번 교육은 농기계임대사업소 이용 농업인과 여성·고령 농업인 등을 대상으로 농업인평생학습센터에서 진행됐다. 교육은 여름철 농작업 중 발생할 수 있는 안전사고를 예방하고 농기계의 올바른 사용법을 익힐 수 있도록 실습 중심으로 운영됐다.
주요 내용은 온열질환 예방과 응급 대처요령, 농기계 안전사고 사례를 통한 예방교육, 농기계 사용 및 농작업 안전관리, 중소형 농기계 상·하차 안전 실습 등이다.
센터는 폭염 속 장시간 농작업으로 인한 피로 누적과 집중력 저하가 농기계 사고로 이어질 수 있는 만큼, 보호장비 착용과 안전수칙 준수, 작업 전 위험요인 점검의 중요성도 함께 안내했다.
김선주 농촌지원과장은 “여름철에는 폭염과 농기계 사용이 겹치면서 안전사고 위험이 높아진다”며 “계절별 농작업 환경을 반영한 실습 중심 안전교육을 지속적으로 운영하겠다”고 말했다.
