On the 12th, Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province held the 'National Metropolitan City and Province Honam Hometown Association Unity Conference' at the Mujoo Yeche Culture Center, aiming to strengthen ties with emigrants and expand the population of related individuals through promoting the Jeollabuk Love Resident Card.
The event brought together over 500 members of the National Metropolitan City and Province Honam Hometown Associations from Seoul, Busan, Daegu-Gyeongbuk, Ulsan, Daejeon-Sejong, Chungnam, Gyeongnam, and other regions to confirm their affection for their hometown Jeollabuk and to solidify unity and harmony among hometown friends.
Prior to the main event, participants explored representative tourist attractions in Mujoo such as the Mujoo Eosagil trekking, Joksang Mountain Hyangnobong, Deokyu Mountain Hyangjeokbong, and the Meoru Wine Cave to experience the region's nature and tourism resources. Following this, they gathered at the Mujoo Yeche Culture Center for a banquet and the Unity Conference to enhance camaraderie among hometown friends and share the warmth of their hometown.
During the event, the province operated promotional booths focusing on the Jeollabuk Love Resident Card system. This system allows emigrants and national citizens who love Jeollabuk to receive various discounts at major tourist sites, accommodations, restaurants, etc., similar to Jeollabuk residents. It is a representative policy aimed at expanding continuous exchanges with hometowns and increasing the population of related individuals.
Participants who joined the Jeollabuk Love Resident Card at the scene showed great interest in the various benefits and expressed high enthusiasm for strengthening the connection with their hometown.
Jeon Won-taek, the Governor of Jeollabuk Province, expressed his hope that the event would serve as an opportunity to deepen the friendship among hometown association members while sharing the beauty of nature and warm hospitality of Mujoo. He also stated his commitment to continue collaborating with emigrants from various regions nationwide to contribute as reliable partners in the development of Jeollabuk.
Choi Soon-mo, the National Honam Hometown Association President, expressed pride in witnessing the development of his hometown Jeollabuk, even though he resides elsewhere, and pledged the association's strong support for the successful future of Jeollabuk Special Self-Governing Province and the advancement of their hometown.
Overall, the event aimed to foster unity and strengthen ties among members of the Honam Hometown Association while promoting the benefits of the Jeollabuk Love Resident Card system to enhance connections with hometowns and contribute to the development of Jeollabuk.
전북자치도, 전국 호남향우와 소통…고향사랑 이어간다
전북특별자치도는 12일 무주예체문화관에서 전국 광역 시·도 호남향우회 회원들이 한자리에 모인 '전국 광역 시·도 호남향우회 한마음대회'를 개최하고, 전북사랑도민증 홍보를 통해 출향도민과의 유대 강화 및 관계인구 확대에 나섰다.
이번 행사는 서울, 부산, 대구·경북, 울산, 대전·세종, 충남, 경남 등 전국 각지의 광역 호남향우회 회장단과 산악회 회원 등 500여 명이 참석해 타지에서 품어온 고향 전북에 대한 애정을 확인하고 향우 간 화합과 결속을 다지기 위해 마련됐다.
참석자들은 본행사에 앞서 무주 어사길 트래킹을 비롯해 적상산 향로봉, 덕유산 향적봉, 머루와인동굴 등 무주의 대표 관광지를 둘러보며 지역의 자연과 관광자원을 체험했다. 이어 무주예체문화관에서 오찬과 한마음대회를 열고 향우 간 친목을 다지며 고향의 정을 나눴다.
도는 행사장에 홍보부스를 운영하며 전북사랑도민증 제도를 집중 안내했다. 전북사랑도민증은 출향도민과 전북을 사랑하는 국민이 전북도민과 동일하게 도내 주요 관광지와 숙박시설, 음식점 등에서 다양한 할인 혜택을 받을 수 있는 제도로, 고향과의 지속적인 교류를 확대하고 관계인구를 늘리기 위한 대표 정책이다.
현장에서 전북사랑도민증에 가입한 향우들은 다양한 혜택을 확인하며 큰 관심을 보였으며, 고향과의 연결고리를 더욱 강화할 수 있다는 점에서 높은 호응을 나타냈다.
