The National Gugak Center (Director Kim Jung-hyun) will host a traditional music concert titled "Dadam" at Yeumheon on the 29th at 7 p.m., featuring tea and storytelling.
"Dadam" is a representative performance of the National Gugak Center where you can enjoy the beauty of traditional Korean music up close while sharing stories of famous figures over a fragrant cup of tea. In July, Kim Sung-nyeo, a professor of Korean music at Dongguk University, who has been broadening the horizons of Korean performing arts, will join as a storytelling guest.
Professor Kim Sung-nyeo is a renowned figure who has enhanced both popularity and artistic completeness by engaging in various genres such as theater, musicals, opera, and outdoor performances. Serving as the artistic director of the National Changgeuk Company, she led the modernization and globalization of traditional Korean opera and received great acclaim for her one-woman 32-character monodrama "Fairy in the Wall." Currently, she is dedicated to nurturing successors and inheriting traditional arts.
The message of this "Dadam" event is that by complimenting each other with "You're good," one can walk through life joyfully. From the time when Professor Kim Sung-nyeo learned gayageum music from the renowned singer Park Gwi-hee to the present day, it will be a time to hear about the life of an artist recorded in the history of Korean performing arts up close.
In the "Enjoy Our Music" segment, the National Gugak Center's Gugak Orchestra members Yoon Ina (gayageum) and Kim Sung-joo (gosu) will present Choi Oksam's "Gayageum Sanjo."
‘마당극의 거장’ 김성녀, 국립민속국악원 7월 〈다담〉 함께한다
국립민속국악원(원장 김중현)은 오는 29일 오후 7시 예음헌에서 차와 이야기가 있는 국악콘서트 〈다담〉을 개최한다.
〈다담〉은 향긋한 차 한 잔과 함께 명사의 이야기를 나누고, 국악의 아름다움을 가까이에서 즐길 수 있는 국립민속국악원의 대표 공연이다. 7월에는 한국 공연예술의 지평을 넓혀 온 김성녀 동국대학교 한국음악과 석좌교수가 이야기 손님으로 함께한다.
김성녀 교수는 연극·뮤지컬·창극·마당놀이를 넘나들며 대중성과 예술적 완성도를 함께 높여 온 명인이다. 국립창극단 예술감독을 역임하며 창극의 현대화와 세계화를 이끌었고, 1인 32역 모노드라마 〈벽 속의 요정〉에서도 큰 호평을 받았다. 현재는 후학 양성과 전통예술 계승에 매진하고 있다.
이번 〈다담〉의 메시지는 “서로에게 ‘잘한다’는 추임새를 건네면 유쾌하게 인생길을 걸을 수 있다”이다. 김성녀 교수가 박귀희 명창에게 가야금병창을 배운 시절부터 오늘에 이르기까지, 한국 공연사에 기록된 예술가로서의 삶을 가까이에서 들어보는 시간이 될 예정이다.
‘우리 음악 즐기기’ 순서에서는 최옥삼류 〈가야금산조〉를 국립민속국악원 국악연주단의 윤이나(가야금)와 김성주(고수)가 함께 선보인다.
