The National Cultural Heritage Administration, the National Institute of Cultural Heritage, and the National Wanju Cultural Heritage Research Institute (Director Lee Gyu-hoon, hereinafter referred to as the 'Wanju Institute') will open the doors of a performance promotion space to share the cultural heritage survey and research results of the Wanju Institute with the public, starting with the opening ceremony of the permanent exhibition 'Land Embracing Time, Jeonbuk' at 2 p.m. on the 28th.
The Wanju Institute's performance promotion space is a total of 1,000 square meters in size and is designed with various spaces such as a permanent exhibition, children's experience room, and an open library.
The permanent exhibition 'Land Embracing Time, Jeonbuk' is divided into two parts based on the survey and research results of the Wanju Institute to explore the cultural heritage of Jeonbuk.
In 'Part 1. Land of Abundance, Embracing People,' it highlights the process of people settling in Jeonbuk from prehistoric times to ancient times, forming communities, and developing culture. It introduces the excellence and academic value of ancient Jeonbuk culture centered around the representative excavation results of the Wanju Institute such as Gaesadong Paechong in Gunsan, Wansangun Tomb in Wanju, and Yugok-ri and Dularak-ri Tombs in Namwon.
In 'Part 2. Diverse Stories Embraced by Vast Land,' it sheds light on the history and life of the region through the unique cultural heritage of Jeonbuk. Visitors can explore Jeonbuk's ancient water management technology seen in sites like Ik-san Hwangdeungje, the appearance of the first Korean Catholic martyr buried in Namgyeri Site (Chonam Isungji), and the excellent production technology of Goryeo celadon in Buan Cheongjayo-ji.
Additionally, spaces for leisure for visitors have been prepared, such as the children's experience room "Dorandooran Time Playground" where children can naturally understand cultural heritage through play, and the "Open Library" where visitors can deepen their understanding of cultural heritage. Various digital content viewing spaces such as LED media art and immersive video rooms are also available, providing visitors with a more vibrant experience.
The National Institute of Cultural Heritage, Wanju Cultural Heritage Research Institute aims to strengthen its role as an open research institution that shares survey and research results with the public through the opening of this performance promotion space. They plan to continuously operate various exhibitions and educational programs to ensure that cultural heritage becomes a living asset shared with the local community. It is hoped that it will establish itself as a representative cultural space for sharing the value of Jeonbuk's cultural heritage with the public and passing it on to the next generation.
전북 지역 문화유산을 보고 읽고 체험하는 열린 문화공간 문 연다
국가유산청 국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소(소장 이규훈, 이하 ‘완주연구소’)는 28일 오후 2시 상설전시 ‘시간을 품은 땅, 전북’의 개막식을 시작으로 완주연구소의 문화유산 조사·연구 성과를 국민과 공유하기 위한 성과홍보공간의 문을 연다.
완주연구소 성과홍보공간은 총면적 1,000㎡ 규모로, 상설전시, 어린이체험실, 열린도서관 등 다양한 공간으로 기획되었다.
'시간을 품은 땅, 전북' 상설전시는 완주연구소의 조사·연구 성과를 기반으로 전북의 문화유산을 살펴볼 수 있도록 2부로 구성하였다.
‘1부. 풍요의 땅, 사람이 깃들다’에서는 선사시대부터 고대에 이르기까지 전북에 사람이 정착하고 공동체를 이루며 문화를 발전시켜 온 과정을 조명한다. 군산 개사동 패총, 완주 상운리 원상운 고분군, 남원 유곡리·두락리 고분군 등 완주연구소의 대표 발굴조사 성과를 중심으로 전북 고대문화의 우수성과 학술적 가치를 소개한다.
‘2부. 드넓은 대지가 품은 다채로운 이야기’에서는 전북이 가진 특색 있는 문화유산을 통해 지역의 역사와 삶을 조명한다. 제방 유적 중 하나인 익산 황등제 등에서 확인 가능한 전북의 고대 수리기술, 완주 남계리 유적(초남이성지)에 잠든 한국인 최초 천주교 순교자의 모습, 부안 청자요지의 고려청자의 뛰어난 제작기술 등을 만나볼 수 있다.
또한 어린이들이 놀이를 통해 문화유산을 자연스럽게 이해할 수 있는 어린이체험실 「도란도란 시간 놀이터」, 문화유산을 보다 깊게 이해할 수 있는 「열린도서관」 등 관람객들을 위한 여가 공간도 마련되었다. 아울러 엘이디(LED, 발광 다이오드) 미디어아트, 실감영상실 등 다양한 디지털 콘텐츠 감상 공간도 갖추어 관람객들에게 더욱 생동감 넘치는 체험을 선사할 것으로 기대된다.
국립문화유산연구원 국립완주문화유산연구소는 이번 성과홍보공간 개관으로 조사·연구 성과를 국민과 공유하는 열린 연구기관으로서의 역할을 강화하고, 문화유산이 지역사회와 함께 살아 숨 쉬는 자산이 되도록 다양한 전시와 교육 프로그램을 지속적으로 운영할 계획이다. 앞으로 전북 문화유산의 가치를 국민과 공유하고 다음 세대에게 전하는 대표 문화공간으로 자리매김하기를 기대한다.
