Jeonju Cultural Foundation is hosting a "Generative AI Fusion Korean Traditional Music Video Contest" as part of the "Republic of Korea Cultural City Development Project" to further expand the fusion of traditional Korean music and generative AI technology.
This contest is planned to present new ways of appreciating Korean traditional music based on the award-winning compositions from the "AI Korean Traditional Music Crossover Composition Contest" held last year and this year. It aims to establish a sustainable foundation for the continued utilization and spread of K-content that combines traditional culture and advanced technology.
Participants are required to select one of the seven main award-winning compositions from the "AI Korean Traditional Music Crossover Composition Contest" held in 2024-2025, such as Park Taryeong, Bariya Bariya, VIVIDA, Jeonju Arirang, Kang Kangsullae, LOVE IN JEONJU, or Dongdongdari, and create a generative AI-based music video that suits the mood and narrative of the song.
Anyone in South Korea, regardless of age, experience, or location, can participate as an individual or a group until the 27th of the month. The judging criteria will focus on the innovative visual effects and background production using generative AI technology, as well as the clear presentation of the music's concept and narrative in the video production.
The contest will award a total of five works with a total prize money of 11 million won. One team will receive the Grand Prize (6 million won and a trophy), one team will receive the Excellent Prize (2 million won and a trophy), and three teams will receive the Outstanding Prize (each 1 million won and a trophy).
In particular, the five selected award-winning works will be presented at a production announcement event in September at the Palbok Arts Factory D-CUBE's 4-sided LED space in a format that involves interaction with the audience. The final awards will be determined based on the production announcement event presentation and the results of a public vote.

전주문화재단, 생성형 AI 퓨전국악 뮤직비디오 공모전 개최
전주문화재단은 ‘대한민국 문화도시 조성사업’의 일환으로 전통 국악과 생성형 AI 기술의 융합을 한층 확장하기 위해 「생성형 AI 퓨전국악 뮤직비디오 공모전」을 개최한다.
이번 공모전은 지난해와 올해 개최된 ‘AI 국악 크로스오버 작곡 공모전’ 수상곡을 기반으로 국악의 새로운 감상 방식을 제시하고, 전통문화와 첨단기술이 융합된 K-콘텐츠의 지속 가능한 활용 및 확산 기반을 마련하기 위해 기획됐다.
출품작은 2024~2025년 개최된‘AI 국악 크로스오버 작곡 공모전’의 주요 수상곡 7곡인 ▲박타령, ▲바리야바리야, ▲VIVIDA, ▲전주아리랑, ▲강강술래, ▲LOVE IN JEONJU, ▲동동다리 가운데 한 곡을 선택해 곡의 분위기와 서사에 맞는 생성형 AI 기반 뮤직비디오로 제작하면 된다.
참가 자격은 대한민국 국민 누구나이며, 연령·경력·지역 제한 없이 개인 또는 단체로 오는 27일까지 응모할 수 있다. 심사에서는 생성형 AI 기술을 활용한 독창적인 시각효과와 배경 연출, 음악의 콘셉트와 서사가 명확하게 드러나는 영상 연출을 중점적으로 평가한다.
시상 규모는 총 5개 작품, 총상금 1,100만 원 규모로 진행된다. ▲대상 1팀(600만 원 및 상패), ▲최우수상 1팀(200만 원 및 상패), ▲우수상 3팀(각 100만 원 및 상패)을 선정한다.
특히 이번 공모전은 전문가 심사를 통해 선정된 5개 수상작을 대상으로 오는 9월 팔복예술공장 디큐브(D-CUBE)의 4면 LED 공간에서 시민과 함께하는 GV(관객과의 대화) 형식의 수상작 제작발표회를 개최한다. 최종 수상 훈격은 제작발표회 현장 발표와 시민 투표 결과를 반영해 결정될 예정이다.
