The HIPːPAN FESTIVAL, being introduced for the first time this year, is a performance brand designed to not just reproduce tradition but to connect intangible heritage with contemporary performing arts, allowing for a new sensory experience. The event will feature the innovative 'Ambiguous Dance Company,' known for its unique artistic world, and 'Chudahye Chajis,' which expands Korean shamanic songs (muga) with new band music. Through the stages of these two teams interpreting tradition in different artistic ways, audiences can experience the present and future of intangible heritage in a multidimensional manner.

Ambiguous Dance Company gained global recognition for their performance 'Coming Down the Mountain' in the Korea Tourism Organization's promotional video 'Feel the Rhythm of Korea,' showcasing the charm of Korean dance and excitement worldwide. They have been actively engaged in domestic and international activities, including participating in the music video 'Higher Power' by the global band Coldplay.
Following that, on the 28th at 7:30 p.m. and on the 29th at 4 p.m., 'Chudahye Chajis' will meet the audience with
Chudahye Chajis is a band that has been constructing a unique musical world by combining various music genres based on shamanic songs (muga). They express the emotions of origin and comfort contained in rituals and shamanic songs through strong rhythms and experimental sounds, showcasing new possibilities for traditional music.

국립무형유산원은 오는 21일부터 29일까지 국립무형유산원 대공연장에서 무형유산을 오늘의 감각으로 새롭게 즐기는 ‘HIPːPAN FESTIVAL(힙ː판 페스티벌)’을 개최한다.
올해 처음 선보이는 HIPːPAN FESTIVAL은 전통을 단순히 재현하는 데 그치지 않고, 무형유산을 현대 공연예술과 연결해 새로운 감각으로 경험할 수 있도록 기획한 공연 브랜드이다. 무형유산이 지닌 흥과 에너지, 예술성을 현대적인 무대 언어로 풀어내 젊은 세대를 비롯한 누구나 자유롭게 즐길 수 있는 공연을 선보인다.
이번 공연에는 독창적인 작품 세계로 국내외에서 주목받아 온 ‘앰비규어스댄스컴퍼니’와 한국의 무가(巫歌)를 새로운 밴드 음악으로 확장해 온 ‘추다혜차지스’가 참여한다. 서로 다른 예술적 방식으로 전통을 해석하는 두 팀의 무대를 통해 무형유산의 현재와 미래를 입체적으로 만나볼 수 있다.
먼저 21일 오후 7시 30분과 22일 오후 4시에는 앰비규어스댄스컴퍼니의 <피버 FEVER>가 무대에 오른다. 마당놀이의 흥과 공동체적 에너지를 현대적인 춤과 음악으로 재해석한 작품으로, 자유로우면서도 강렬한 무대를 통해 관객들의 몸속에 잠들어 있던 흥을 깨울 예정이다.
앰비규어스댄스컴퍼니는 한국관광공사 홍보영상 ‘필 더 리듬 오브 코리아(Feel the Rhythm of Korea)’의 ‘범 내려온다’ 공연으로 한국 춤과 흥의 매력을 전 세계에 알렸으며, 세계적인 밴드 콜드플레이(Coldplay)의 ‘하이어 파워(Higher Power)’ 뮤직비디오에도 참여하는 등 국내외에서 활발하게 활동하고 있다.
이어 28일 오후 7시 30분과 29일 오후 4시에는 ‘추다혜차지스’의 <소수민족>이 관객을 만난다. 무가(巫歌)를 기반으로 레게, 록, 재즈, 힙합 등을 다양하게 결합한 작품으로, 특히 2026 한국대중음악상 ‘올해의 음반’을 수상한 정규 2집 「소수민족」의 주요 곡들을 중심으로 강렬한 무대를 펼칠 예정이다.
추다혜차지스는 무가(巫歌)를 바탕으로 다양한 음악을 결합해 독보적인 음악 세계를 구축해 온 밴드다. 굿과 무가에 담긴 기원과 위로의 정서를 강렬한 리듬과 실험적인 소리로 풀어내며 전통음악의 새로운 가능성을 보여주고 있다.
