The Jeonbuk Special Self-Governing Province National Gugak Center Dance Troupe will hold the 2026 Dance Troupe City Tour Performance 'The Light of Dance, Its Beautiful Journey' at the Gunsan Arts and Culture Center on the 29th at 3 p.m., as a co-planned performance.
'The Light of Dance, Its Beautiful Journey' will be a stage where you can encounter the deep charm and vitality of our traditional dance, connecting the elegance and vigor of our dance through a diverse repertoire ranging from refined traditional dance movements to dynamic contemporary choreography.
The performance will open with the representative traditional dance 'Taepyeongmu,' which prays for the peace of the country and the well-being of the people. The delicate footwork and restrained dance movements combine to present the grace and elegance unique to Korean dance with the beauty of the stillness in motion.
Following that, performances such as 'Handkerchief Dance,' which delicately expresses human emotions and the sentiments of Koreans through graceful movements of handkerchiefs, 'Aeruwha,' a modern reinterpretation of the aesthetics of traditional dance based on the Ime Bangryu dance, and 'Hanryangmu,' a traditional dance embodying the elegance of the literati and the leisure of the Joseon Dynasty, will take the stage.
The 'Fan Dance,' which portrays beautiful shapes such as flowers and waves with elaborate fan movements and harmonious group dances, will showcase unique artistic expression through delicate hand gestures and various large-scale transformations, captivating the audience with a colorful stage design highlighting Korean colors.
In the 'Love Song,' which expresses the love of Chunhyang and Mongryong through dance, the tender emotions of the two characters are portrayed through delicate dance movements, while in the following 'Seoljanggo,' the dynamic rhythms of the Janggu drum and movements unfold the vigor and vitality of traditional arts.
The grand finale of the performance will be 'Jimakdongcheon,' where the entire dance troupe will perform together. Based on the folk music and shamanic rhythms of the eight provinces of Korea, this piece reinterprets the life, festivals, prayers, and communal spirit of our people with a modern sensibility, depicting the breath and vitality of the land magnificently through the fusion of traditional rhythms and dynamic group dances. The overwhelming energy and grand scale created by the entire dance troupe are expected to be the highlight of this performance.
Park Gi-ryang, the artistic director of the dance troupe, stated, "This city tour performance will be a stage where the beauty of traditional dance and creative sensibility come together, providing an opportunity to encounter the charm and depth of various Korean dances in one place." 도립국악원 무용단, 29일 시·군 순회공연 ‘춤의 빛, 그 아름다운 여정’개최
전북특별자치도립국악원 무용단은 군산예술의전당과 공동기획공연으로 오는 29일 오후 3시 군산예술의전당 소공연장에서 2026 무용단 시·군 순회공연 ‘춤의 빛, 그 아름다운 여정’을 개최한다.
‘춤의 빛, 그 아름다운 여정’은 우리 춤의 깊은 멋과 흥, 시대를 이어온 생명력을 한자리에서 만날 수 있는 무대로 꾸며진다. 전통무용의 섬세하고 정제된 춤사위부터 창작무용의 역동적인 움직임까지 다채로운 레퍼토리를 통해 우리 춤의 폭넓은 매력과 아름다움을 선보인다.
공연의 문은 나라의 평안과 백성의 안녕을 기원하는 대표적인 전통춤‘태평무’가 연다. 섬세한 발디딤과 절제된 춤사위가 어우러져 한국춤 특유의 정중동(靜中動)의 미와 우아한 품격을 선사한다.
이어 수건의 유려한 움직임으로인간의 희로애락과 한국인의 정서를 섬세하게 표현하는 작품‘수건춤’, 이매방류 입춤을 바탕으로 전통춤의 미학을 현대적으로 재해석한‘에루화’, 조선시대 풍류를 즐기던 한량의 멋과 여유, 선비의 기품을 담은 전통춤‘한량무’가 무대에 오른다.
화려한 부채의 움직임과 조화로운 군무로 꽃과 물결 등 아름다운 형상을 그려내는‘부채춤’은 섬세한 손놀림과 다채로운 대형 변화를 통해 독창적인 표현미를 보여주며, 한국적 색채가 돋보이는 화려한 무대 구성이 관객들의 눈길을 사로잡을 예정이다.
판소리 ‘춘향전’의 사랑을 춤으로 풀어낸‘사랑가’에서는 춘향과 몽룡의 애틋한 정서를 섬세한 춤사위로 표현하고, 이어지는‘설장고’에서는 역동적인 장고가락과 몸짓으로 전통예술의 흥과 신명을 펼쳐낸다.
공연의 대미는 무용단 전원이 함께하는‘지맥동천(地脈動天)’이 장식한다. 전국 팔도의 농악과 무속 장단을 바탕으로 우리 민족의 삶과 축제, 기원과 공동체 정신을 현대적 감각으로 재구성한 작품으로, 전통 장단과 역동적인 군무가 어우러져 대지의 숨결과 생명력을 웅장하게 그려낸다. 특히 무용단 전원이 만들어내는 압도적인 에너지와 스케일 있는 무대는 이번 공연의 백미가 될 것으로 기대를 모으고 있다.
