On the 20th, the Bu-an County Welfare Council (Chairman Lee Chun-seop) signed a tripartite memorandum of understanding (MOU) with the Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province Environmental Education Center (Director Kwak Dong-hee) and the Bu-an Environmental Education Network (BEEN, represented by Choi Hyeon-ok) to enhance local community environmental education and address the educational gaps in environmental education for vulnerable groups.
This agreement aims to provide tailored environmental education opportunities for various welfare recipients in the Bu-an area to respond to climate disasters and achieve carbon neutrality. It is designed to establish a cooperative system between local welfare institutions and environmental education experts to realize "environmental education for all, leaving no one behind."
Under the agreement, the three organizations agreed to collaborate on promoting environmental education by ▲ integrating environmental education with social welfare facilities, ▲ providing tailored education support for specific target groups using professional instructors, ▲ identifying demand for environmental education and linking with specialized institutions, and ▲ developing and promoting educational programs.
In the future, the Bu-an County Welfare Council plans to identify the education needs of social welfare facilities in the region and expand environmental education in areas such as climate crisis and carbon neutrality in collaboration with the two institutions.
Lee Chun-seop, Chairman of the Bu-an County Welfare Council, expressed his hope that through this agreement, welfare recipients in the Bu-an area will have closer access to environmental education opportunities that help them understand and practice climate crisis and carbon neutrality in their daily lives.
Kwak Dong-hee, Director of the Jeollabuk-do Special Self-Governing Province Environmental Education Center, and Choi Hyeon-ok, the representative of the Bu-an Environmental Education Network, also stated their commitment to actively cooperate to address the environmental education gaps in the region and support practical environmental education in welfare settings.
부안군 사회복지협의회·전북특별자치도환경교육센터·부안환경교육네트워크, 3자 업무협약 체결
부안군사회복지협의회(회장 이춘섭)는 20일 전북특별자치도환경교육센터(센터장 곽동희), 부안환경교육네트워크(Buan Environmental Education Network, BEEN·대표 최현옥)와 지역사회 환경교육 활성화와 취약계층의 환경교육 사각지대 해소를 위한 3자 업무협약(MOU)을 체결했다.
이번 협약은 부안지역의 다양한 복지 대상자에게 기후재난 대응과 탄소중립 실현을 위한 맞춤형 환경교육 기회를 제공하고, 지역의 복지기관과 환경교육 전문기관 간 협력체계를 구축해 ‘소외되는 사람 없는 환경교육’을 실현하기 위해 마련됐다.
협약에 따라 세 기관은 ▲사회복지시설과 연계한 환경교육 추진 ▲전문강사를 활용한 대상별 맞춤형 교육 지원 ▲환경교육 수요 발굴 및 전문기관 연계 ▲교육 프로그램 개발과 홍보 등에 상호 협력하기로 했다.
앞으로 부안군사회복지협의회는 지역 내 사회복지시설의 교육 수요를 발굴하고 두 기관과 연계해 기후위기·탄소중립 등 복지 현장에서 필요한 환경교육을 확대해 나갈 계획이다.
이춘섭 부안군사회복지협의회장은 “이번 협약을 통해 부안지역의 복지 대상자들이 기후위기와 탄소중립을 생활 속에서 이해하고 실천할 수 있는 환경교육 기회를 보다 가까이에서 접할 수 있기를 기대한다”고 말했다.
곽동희 전북특별자치도환경교육센터장과 최현옥 부안환경교육네트워크 대표도 지역의 환경교육 사각지대를 해소하고, 복지 현장에 실질적으로 도움이 되는 환경교육을 지원하기 위해 적극 협력해 나가겠다고 밝혔다.
