The 'Gunsan Book Fair 2026', where you can encounter diverse tastes and stories through books, will be held from the 29th to the 30th at Gunsan Cultural Center and Malrang Village. Starting with a pre-forum on the 28th, this year's event will feature a total of 204 teams including domestic and international creators, independent publishers, and local bookstores, making it the largest-scale event ever.
This book fair goes beyond simple book sales and is designed as a comprehensive publishing culture festival that combines lectures, exhibitions, and markets. On the first day of the event, the 29th, there will be a lecture by Park Hae-cheon, the author of 'Concrete Utopia', as well as a dialogue between novelist Kim Geum-hee and writer Yozo, and a global publishing industry talk by overseas guests. On the 30th, key operators of major book fairs nationwide will gather to discuss the future direction of domestic book fairs.
New programs introduced this year are also catching attention. Visitors can select their favorite texts from 294 pieces and collect them in a participatory exhibition called 'Text Buffet', along with graphic designer Oh Hye-jin's 'Dummy Book Exhibition', and an Asian zine exhibition 'HELLO, ZINE' featuring Korea, Japan, and Indonesia.
Furthermore, at the Malrang Village Story Yard, the independent comic market 'Manhwadang' will be newly established with the participation of 20 teams from home and abroad, showcasing unique comic works and artist talks. On the 3rd floor of Gunsan Cultural Center, 'Gunsan Village' will introduce Gunsan's unique reading culture with the participation of local publishers and bookstores.

책을 매개로 다채로운 취향과 이야기를 만나는 ‘군산북페어 2026’이 오는 29일부터 30일까지 군산회관과 말랭이마을 일원에서 열린다. 28일 사전 포럼을 시작으로 열리는 올해 행사에는 국내외 창작자와 독립출판사, 동네책방 등 총 204개 팀이 참여해 역대급 규모로 치러진다.
이번 북페어는 단순한 도서 판매를 넘어 강연, 전시, 마켓이 어우러진 종합 출판문화 축제로 꾸려진다. 행사 첫날인 29일에는 『콘크리트 유토피아』의 박해천 저자 강연을 비롯해 소설가 김금희와 작가 요조의 대담, 해외 게스트들의 글로벌 출판 현장 토크가 마련된다. 30일에는 전국 주요 북페어 운영진이 모여 국내 북페어의 발전 방향을 모색하는 연속 토크도 진행된다.
올해 새롭게 도입된 프로그램도 눈길을 끈다. 관람객이 294편의 글 중 마음에 드는 텍스트를 직접 골라 소장하는 참여형 전시 ‘텍스트 뷔페’와 그래픽 디자이너 오혜진의 ‘더미북 전시’, 한·일·인도네시아 3국이 참여하는 아시아 진(Zine) 전시 ‘HELLO, ZINE’이 관람객을 맞이한다.
또한, 말랭이마을 이야기마당에서는 국내외 20개 팀이 참여하는 독립만화 마켓 ‘만화당’이 신설되어 독창적인 만화 작품과 작가 토크를 선보인다. 군산회관 3층 ‘군산빌리지’에서는 지역 출판사와 서점이 참여해 군산만의 독서문화를 알릴 예정이다.
