A special multi-sensory art performance that goes beyond sight and hearing to experience classical music through all five senses, titled 'Consolation of Senses,' will be held at 5 p.m. on September 5th at the Jeonju Cultural Pavilion Jaktang.
This performance was selected as part of the '2026 Jeonju Emerging Artists Support' by the Jeonju Cultural Foundation (Acting CEO Lee Sung-soon, former director of the Jeonju City Department of Culture, Sports, and Tourism) and was planned by violinist Moon Kyungho. Moving away from the traditional passive way of appreciation, the performance environment, props, and repertoire were meticulously designed to allow the audience to experience the music through various senses.
The venue minimizes the boundaries between the stage and the audience seats, creating a comfortable space for the audience to immerse themselves in the music by mixing bean bags, camping chairs, sofas, and more. This is to move away from the traditional way of appreciating classical performances and to more intuitively convey the 'consolation' meaning inherent in music.
Additionally, the audience will be provided with a 'Sensory Kit' upon entry, containing bamboo pens, scent chips, coasters, candies, and chocolates. This kit serves as a device that integrates the senses of touch, smell, taste, and more closely connects with the performance program.

Moreover, the audience can encounter melodies by Meyer and Arvo Pärt, and Moon Kyungho will lead the flow of the performance as a 'narrator' alongside his own performance. Skilled musicians such as Park Sung-soo, Park Hye-won, Kwon Jung-bin, Moon Ji-seon, Seo Ju-yeon, and Jo Sung-hyun will also participate, promising to present a rich stage.
전주신진예술가 ‘문경환-오감의 위로’ 5일 공연
시각과 청각을 넘어 오감(五感)으로 클래식 음악을 경험하는 특별한 다원 예술 공연 오감의 위로: Consolation of Senses’가 오는 9월 5일 오후 5시 문화공판장 작당에서 열린다.
이번 공연은 전주문화재단(대표이사 직무대행 이성순 전주시 문화체육관광국장)의 ‘2026 전주신진예술가지원’ 선정작으로, 바이올리니스트 문경환이 기획했다. 기존의 소극적인 감상 방식에서 벗어나 관객이 음악을 다양한 감각으로 경험할 수 있도록 공연 환경과 소품, 연주곡을 세심하게 구성했다.
공연장은 무대와 객석의 경계를 최소화하고 빈백, 캠핑 의자, 소파 등을 혼합 배치해 관객이 편안한 공간에서 음악에 몰입할 수 있도록 꾸몄다. 클래식 공연의 전통적인 감상 방식에서 벗어나 음악이 지닌 ‘위로’의 의미를 보다 직관적으로 전달하기 위해서다.
또한, 관객에게는 입장 시 대나무 펜, 향기 칩, 코스터, 사탕과 초콜릿 등이 담긴‘감각키트’가 제공된다. 이 키트는 촉각, 후각, 미각 등 오감을 통합하는 장치로 연주 프로그램과 긴밀히 연결된다.
프로그램 역시 ‘위로’를 주제로 감성적인 곡들로 구성했다. 푹스의 <스트링 트리오>에서는 코스터의 촉감과 잔잔한 선율을 통해 편안함을 느낄 수 있으며, 파야의 <7개의 스페인 민요>에서는 초콜릿을 맛보며 삶의 달콤하면서도 쌉싸름한 감정을 경험할 수 있다. 이어 블로흐의 <피아노 트리오>에서는 자연의 향과 함께 잔잔한 선율을 감상하며 음악이 전하는 위로를 느낄 수 있다.
이 외에도 마이어와 아르보 패르트의 선율을 만나볼 수 있으며, 문경환이 직접 연주와 함께 ‘내레이터’로 공연의 흐름을 이끈다. 박성수, 박혜원, 권정빈, 문지선, 서주연, 조성현 등 실력파 연주자들도 참여해 풍성한 무대를 선보일 예정이다.
