The Jeonju Cultural Foundation will be hosting the event 'Hanji Gol Hangawi Hanmadang' at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum for two days on the upcoming 24th and 26th in celebration of Chuseok.
This event is designed to enhance the role of the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum as a cultural space for local holidays by offering traditional hanji making and hanji craft experiences to visitors during the holiday season, promoting the excellence and value of hanji, and providing a cultural experience program that can be enjoyed by all generations.
The main program of the event, 'Challenge! Chojiwang Selection Contest,' is a competition where participants personally weigh the completed hanji after making it to match the closest to the predetermined standard weight. It will be operated approximately 20 participants per session three times a day, and the participation fee is free. Excellent participants for each session will be provided with a raffle ticket as a prize to add more fun to the experience.
There will also be a 'Hanji Craft One-Day Class' utilizing the characteristics of hanji. It is an experience program where participants can make daily necessities using hanji, with around 20 participants per session once a day. The participation fee is 10,000 won, and on the 24th, an 'Air Balloon Mobile' will be made, while on the 26th, a 'Paper Fire Mobile' will be created.
In addition, there will be ongoing activities such as 'Random Gift Drawing' that can be participated through following the official SNS of the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum, 'Wishing on Hanji' where people can write their New Year's wishes on a wish paper and hang them, and traditional Korean games like Yutnori, Jegichagi, Tuho, and Paengichigi that can be freely enjoyed at the 'Hangawi Traditional Game Hanmadang.'
Applications for the 'Challenge! Chojiwang Selection Contest' and 'Hanji Craft One-Day Class,' which require advance reservations, can be made through the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum website from September 9th to 15th.
A Jeonju Cultural Foundation official stated, "We have prepared programs so that citizens can spend an enjoyable holiday experiencing traditional hanji and various traditional cultures with their families during Chuseok," and expressed hopes that it will be a time where people can familiarize themselves with and enjoy Jeonju's hanji culture at the Jeonju Millennium Hanji Museum.
전주천년한지관에서 즐기는 특별한 한가위
전주문화재단은 추석을 맞아 오는 24일과 26일 이틀간 전주천년한지관에서 ‘한지골 한가위 한마당’을 운영한다.
이번 행사는 명절을 맞아 전주천년한지관을 찾는 방문객들에게 전통한지 제조체험과 한지공예 체험을 제공해 한지의 우수성과 가치를 알리고, 전 세대가 함께 즐길 수 있는 문화 체험 프로그램으로 지역 명절 문화공간으로서의 역할을 강화하기 위해 마련됐다.
행사의 대표 프로그램인 ‘도전! 초지왕 선발전’은 참가자가 직접 한지를 뜬 뒤 완성한 한지의 무게를 정해진 기준에 가장 가깝게 맞추는 경연으로, 회차당 20명 내외로 하루 3회씩 운영되며 참가비는 무료다. 회차별 우수 참가자에게는 랜덤뽑기권을 상품으로 제공해 체험에 재미를 더할 예정이다.
한지의 특성을 활용한 ‘한지공예 원데이클래스’도 운영한다. 한지로 생활 소품을 직접 만들어보는 체험 프로그램으로, 하루 1회 회차당 20명 내외가 참여할 수 있다. 참가비는 1만원이며, 24일에는 ‘열기구 모빌’, 26일에는 ‘지화 모빌’을 제작한다.
이와 함께 전주천년한지관 공식 SNS 팔로우를 통해 참여할 수 있는 ‘랜덤선물 뽑기’, 소원지에 새해 소망을 적어 걸어보는 ‘천년한지 소원빌기’, 윷놀이·제기차기·투호·팽이치기 등을 자유롭게 즐길 수 있는 ‘한가위 전통놀이 한마당’도 상시 운영한다.
사전예약이 필요한 ‘도전! 초지왕 선발전’과 ‘한지공예 원데이클래스’의 참가 신청은 9월 9일부터 15일까지 전주천년한지관 홈페이지를 통해 신청할 수 있다.
전주문화재단 관계자는 “추석을 맞아 시민들이 가족과 함께 전통한지와 다양한 전통문화를 직접 경험하며 즐거운 명절을 보낼 수 있도록 프로그램을 마련했다”며 “전주천년한지관에서 전주의 한지문화를 친숙하게 경험하고 즐길 수 있는 시간이 되길 바란다”고 말했다.
