Jeonbuk Hyundai Motors FC's 'Green School Women's Team' will represent Jeonbuk Hyundai for the second consecutive year and challenge the K-League Women's Amateur Soccer Tournament.
The Jeonbuk Hyundai Green School Women's Team will participate in the '2026 K-League Women's Soccer Tournament Queen's Cup (K-WIN CUP)' held at the Jecheon Football Center in Chungbuk from the 11th to the 13th.
Having entered the tournament for the second time this year, the Green School Women's Team will once again represent Jeonbuk Hyundai in the competition, creating stories of women embarking on new challenges through soccer.
After evaluating motivations for support and willingness to participate in the competition, the Green School Women's Team selected a total of 12 players who have been attending the Jeonbuk Hyundai Green School Women's Team classes for over a year.
Members with different professions and backgrounds, ranging from a traditional Korean medicine doctor to a wildlife nurse, insurance planner, and student, have come together as one team through their shared interest in soccer.
The significance of this participation lies in these individuals, who lead different daily lives, coming together in green uniforms to cooperate and challenge themselves as one team.
Furthermore, this year's participating team continues the tradition of Green School Women's Team members representing Jeonbuk Hyundai for the second consecutive year, following last year's participation.
During the halftime of the home game against Seoul on August 1, they concluded the opening ceremony amidst the warm support and encouragement of the home fans, solidifying their determination for the competition.
In preparation for this tournament, they are focusing on regular training and teamwork to improve their game performance. Their goal is to achieve two victories this year, surpassing last year's record of 1 win and 1 draw, while aiming to complete the competition without any injuries.
The captain of the Jeonbuk Hyundai representative team, Park I-seul, stated, "Last year, we achieved a record of 1 win and 1 draw. This year, our goal is to achieve '2 wins' while playing the game healthily without any injuries," expressing her ambition to raise the name of Jeonbuk Hyundai based on the sweat shed during their time at the Green School.
On the other hand, the '2026 K-League Queen's Cup,' organized by the Korea Professional Football Association, is a representative tournament aimed at expanding the presence of women's soccer and promoting active participation in recreational sports.
This year, a total of 30 teams will participate, including 29 amateur teams affiliated with the K-League and one federation team. The tournament will feature intense matches played in a 6-a-side mini soccer format, including goalkeepers.
전북현대, 그린스쿨 여성반으로 구성된 대표팀 '퀸컵' 2년 연속 출전
전북현대모터스FC의 ‘그린스쿨 여성반’이 2년 연속 전북현대를 대표해 K리그 여자 아마추어 축구대회에 도전한다.
전북현대 그린스쿨 여성반은 오는 11일부터 13일까지 충북 제천축구센터에서 열리는 ‘2026 K리그 여자축구대회 퀸컵(K-WIN CUP)’에 참가한다.
올해로 두 번째 대회 출전을 맞은 그린스쿨 여성반은 지난해에 이어 전북현대를 대표하는 팀으로 대회에 나서며, 축구를 통해 새로운 도전에 나서는 여성들의 이야기를 만들어갈 예정이다.
그린스쿨 여성반은 1년 이상 전북현대 그린스쿨 여성반 수업에 참여한 회원들을 대상으로 지원 동기와 대회 참가 의지 등을 중심으로 심사를 거쳐 총 12명의 선수를 선발하였다.
한방병원에서 진료하는 한의사부터 야생동물 간호사, 보험설계사, 학생 등 서로 다른 직업과 배경을 가진 구성원들은 축구라는 공통의 관심사를 통해 하나의 팀으로 뭉쳤다.
서로 다른 일상을 살아가던 이들이 녹색 유니폼을 입고 하나의 팀으로서 협력하고 도전한다는 점이 이번 참가의 가장 큰 의미다.
또한, 이번 참가 선수단은 지난해에 이어 2년 연속 그린스쿨 여성반 회원들이 전북현대를 대표해 출전하는 전통을 이어가게 되었다.
지난 8월 1일 서울과의 홈경기 하프타임에는 홈 팬들의 뜨거운 응원과 격려 속에 출정식을 마치며 대회에 임하는 결의를 다진 바 있다.
특히 이번 대회 참가를 위해 정기적인 훈련과 팀워크를 맞추며 경기력을 끌어올리는 한편, 부상 없이 대회를 완주하고 지난해 기록한 1승 1무를 넘어 올해는 2승 달성을 목표로 새로운 도전을 준비하고 있다.
전북현대 대표팀 주장 박이슬님은 “지난해 1승 1무라는 성과를 거두었는데, 올해는 무엇보다 부상 없이 건강하게 경기를 치르며 ‘2승’을 달성하는 것이 목표”라며 “그동안 그린스쿨에서 흘린 땀방울을 바탕으로 전북현대의 이름을 높이고 오겠다”는 포부를 밝혔다.
한편, 한국프로축구연맹이 주최하는 ‘2026 K리그 퀸컵’은 여성 축구 저변 확대와 생활 체육 활성화를 위한 대표적인 대회다.
올해는 K리그 소속 아마추어 29개 팀과 연맹 연합팀 1개 등 총 30개 팀이 참가하며, 골키퍼 포함 6인제 미니축구 방식으로 열띤 경기를 펼친다.
