A welcoming event for the homecoming guests who returned to their hometowns to celebrate the national holiday of Seollal was held on the 15th at the main hall of Jeongeup Station.
On that day, Jeongeup City's Homecoming Movement Headquarters (Chairman Kim Jeok-woo) and the city of Jeongeup organized an event to convey New Year's greetings to the homecoming guests and share the warm hospitality of their hometown. The event was attended by Mayor Lee Hak-soo, Park Il, the chairman of the city council, city council members, executives of the Homecoming Movement Headquarters, and relevant government officials who welcomed the homecoming guests.
Members of the Homecoming Movement Headquarters showed hospitality to the weary homecoming guests who had traveled long distances by sharing traditional tea, roasted barley, nutritious rice cakes, and more. City hall staff also promoted hometown love donation programs, population policies, and local tourism resources.
Chairman Kim Jeok-woo expressed, "I hope those who have returned to their hometowns can feel the warm hospitality of Jeongeup," while Mayor Lee Hak-soo stated, "I hope the homecoming guests take pride in Jeongeup, a town that progresses along with the warmth of their hometown," and added, "We will do our best to ensure a safe and happy holiday."
정읍시-정읍시애향운동본부, 정읍역서 설 귀성객 환영 행사…고향의 정 나눠
민족 대명절 설을 맞아 고향을 찾은 귀성객들을 위한 환영 행사가 15일 정읍역 대합실에서 열렸다.
정읍시애향운동본부(이사장 김적우)와 정읍시는 이날 귀성객들에게 새해 인사를 전하고 고향의 따뜻한 정을 나누는 행사를 마련했다. 행사에는 이학수 시장과 박일 시의회 의장, 시의원, 애향운동본부 임원, 관계 공무원 등이 참석해 귀성객들을 맞이했다.
애향운동본부 회원들은 쌍화차와 귀리, 영양떡 등을 나누며 장거리 이동에 지친 귀성객들을 격려했다. 시청 직원들은 고향사랑기부제와 인구정책, 지역 관광자원도 함께 홍보했다.
김적우 이사장은 “고향을 찾은 분들이 정읍의 따뜻한 인심을 느끼길 바란다”고 전했으며, 이학수 시장은 “귀성객들이 고향의 정과 함께 발전하는 정읍에 대한 자부심도 가져가길 바란다”며 “안전하고 행복한 연휴를 위해 최선을 다하겠다”고 말했다.
